I backed into a curb and was fortunate that the only thing broken was the muffler hangars. I purchased these in February but given the cold weather had assumed that I would need to wait until June when the weather warms up to install them. I couldn't wait until June so here it is April, 45 degrees F and I decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised that it took more time to remove the old hangers than it did to put these on. The first one took about 90 seconds and the second one about 30 seconds. As for the product, they are pliable more like a urethane compound. It could be rubber but is quite flexible. They are molded properly (no cracks or gaps) and have multiple holes that enable you to adjust how high and tight you want to hang the muffler.

This hanger offers extra flexibility through several hole combinations, which will allow you to set the muffler at different heights. It's very pliable and easy to install, better still with the help of some lubricant. The only question mark concerns its durability. Unlike other such products, it doesn't seem to have a metal core.

I bought these to replace the old worn OEM exhaust hangers on my Volvo after having some custom exhaust work done. After a shop welded in a new resonator, the exhaust tips weren't centered and the right tip would contact the bumper on any kind of road bumps and make a loud tapping noise in the cabin. I got these hangers in a 4 pack because of the spacing options and low price in order to stabilize the new exhaust tips. It was a nightmare getting the old hangers off and a breeze installing these on. The problem is these hangers are much thinner, have much tighter spacing, and have larger openings than the OEM hangers. I had use the farthest spacer and a pair of hangers on both tips to add enough resistance to prevent bumper contact. There was a 1" gap between the tips and bumper after installing these! I had the use zip ties in order to move, tighten, and position the tips properly again. But, eventually (and after a dozen zip ties later) the tips were perfectly centered. After driving through town on the worst roads home, no more knocking the bumper! Until I find a better solution, these will have to do.
