  • BEST BLADE I'VE FOUND. COST PER CUT STILL A LITTLE HIGH
Size: Blade Style: Mild Steel Pattern Name: Blade
I've been using this blade in the Evolution saw to cut bar stock for production runs in my Haas MiniMill. I've tried several different blade and this one works the best. The saw is set up on a rolling stand with a plywood box that catches 90% of the chips and is used with a cover when not in use. I'm cutting 1018 mild steel rectangular bar. So far this blade has cut 80 pieces of 1-1/8" x 5/8 bar and 150 pieces of 1/4 x 7/8 bar. As you can see in the picture, I am also using a "Cool Mist" set up. Note for the guys trying to cut conduit and other thin stuff, you need a blade with a higher blade count. Ideally, the blade spacing should be less that the material thickness. ... show more

  • Equal to slugger blades for less
Size: 10 Inch Style: 52-Tooth Pattern Name: Blade
1st off know your metal for angle iron, "T" iron most flat bars use band saw thats the way to go. If you use it for cutting tubing it should last for months. DO NOT "plunge cut" unless its really necessary. We cut lots of structural steel I beams and such, plates up to 1/2" no complains what so ever Only note: use low RPM Mitter or handheld saw such Metal Devil, Evolution, Slugger or similar. We evaluate the blade based on the task, job sites cut: I beams, 5/8 tubing and such if its last 1 day its a win! We saved lots of work hrs compared to any other cutting process and the final product looks more professional; time saver. Labor cost more. These blades has lots of different sizes we use this brand in 9" Slugger and we process min of 1 ton of flat bar/ blade. If your blade does not last that long you are doing something wrong perhaps cutting to fast, generating to much heat not keeping the tool 100% straight, tilting etc. Heat kills the blade. We cut 3/16 and 1/4 sheets 4x8 and 6x10, each cut is between 4-10 lft /cuts for over 3 months on a single blade, lots of tons of steel (modified Evolution Mitter Saw, we made a portable hand held sliding bridge saw out of it to cut up to 132" straight cuts) ... show more

  • The best!
Size: Blade Style: Mild Steel Pattern Name: Blade
I bought this blade so that I could leave a review. I read some reviews that discounted this blade. The fact is that I own a metal fabrication shop and these are hands down the best blades that are available. I have tried every blade that I can get my hands on and these last twice as long as any other blade we have used. They only last us 3-4 weeks but we are a shop with 11 employees. We use this blade to cut steel tubing up to 2". Larger sizes can burn up the blade pretty quickly. For the larger materials we use a horizontal band saw. With that said, I hope that this review is helpful for you. Blessings. 2/8/17. Update: We now have 22 employees and 3 of these saws running in the shop. Still the best blade. Read the reviews. The people leaving bad reviews are not using this blade properly, whether its on the wrong saw or material or a host of other misuses. I left some tips below that should help with blade longevity. ... show more

  • Bought many brands costing more. This one is great
Size: Blade Style: Mild Steel Pattern Name: Blade
When I first got my Evolution a few years ago I tried other brand blades. I was convinced there was a reason another popular brand blade costs 3 times as much. Their is not. The Evolution blade lasts just as long and I can make hundreds of cuts in mild steel. Just remember, as with all blades, let the blade do the work. One thing. This is NOT for a standard chop saw. It is for a special low RPM steel cutting saw so don't try it on your Dewalt. You will burn up the blade and possibly your saw. It is for cold cut steel saws ONLY. ... show more

  • Blades are Material and Alloy specific!
Size: Blade Style: Stainless Steel Pattern Name: Blade
In general, the Evolution saw is fantastic; better, cleaner, more accurate, much less heat buildup than any abrasive saw cut. I've used the Mild Steel blade to cut a 4in diameter solid round with no issues, I just got through cutting 25 pieces of 3/4" diameter solid 304 (also known as 18/8) stainless and the blade looks perfect. But there is one thing you all need to be aware of. The Evolution Stainless blade is only recommended for 3 specific grades of Stainless, 302, 303, and 304 (which just so happens to have good machinability characteristics). Stainless is also known to be a tricky material to cut/machine as it can get "Sticky" and affect the cut as its happening. This attribute is the only minor drawback, as you can buy a blade and then use it in a material (or a particular alloy of that material) that is was not intended for which leads to less than ideal results. ... show more

  • As good or better than any and good value
Size: Blade Style: Mild Steel Pattern Name: Blade
I can only compare this to a new Dewalt blade that I have had. I found this blade to cut a little faster and last a little longer. I was satisfied enough to buy another one when my original finally got too dull to cut. I regularly cut anything from light 1/8" tubing to 1/2" plate and 3/8" angle and the blade works just fine. On another note I have found that many companies offer mail in blade sharpening services and after recently getting my original blade back from one of these it is as sharp as new and the cost was half that of a new blade. ... show more

  • Dissatisfaction
Size: 10 Inch Style: 52-Tooth Pattern Name: Blade
After viewing and researching the saw and blades for some time I bought this blade with the intention to cut some 1/2 in steel flats, but after 8 nice clean cuts the blade will no longer cut into the steel any more. Saw works fine dissatisfied with the quality of the blades as I have now wasted this much money on these blades I will have to return to an abrasive saw and blades to get the cuts done. Very disappointing and dissatisfied. ... show more
