These coilovers arrived in well-protected packaging. They ship in a solid original cardboard box packed with thick cardboard dividers and plastic wrapping, which is then packaged inside another exact-fit, heavy-duty shipping box. It felt like unboxing endless layers of cardboard, but given how heavy suspension parts are, I really appreciate that they were so well secured to prevent them from being thrown around and damaged during transit. Aside from one very minor spot where the coil coating was worn—likely from grazing the concrete floor during production—the parts arrived perfectly intact and in great condition. However, I was pretty disappointed during the unboxing because my kit did not include the spanner wrenches. Based on the product pictures, I fully expected at least one or two to be included. You absolutely need a sizable, properly fitted spanner wrench to securely tighten the aluminum adjustment collars. Without them, you are forced to either buy a universal tool separately or resort to tapping the soft aluminum collars with a hammer and punch, which will definitely mar up the metal. Overall, the product feels heavy-duty as expected, and the construction quality is decent, though certainly not premium. The shock bodies are bone dry at the top seals, so I have zero immediate concerns about oil leaks. The aluminum locking collars spin freely and smoothly right out of the box, which will make height adjustments easy once I get the right wrench. As a quick tip for anyone installing these: be sure to coat those threads with anti-seize! Steel shock bodies and aluminum collars are notorious for seizing together over the winter, especially if you live in the rust belt. The welds attaching the brackets to the shock body are okay, but I would personally love to see thicker, more consistent beads. They will most likely hold up just fine, but I always prefer to see a little over-engineering on budget suspension parts. Lastly, if you are buying these to lower your vehicle, you must understand how to properly set them up. Do not just bolt these straight onto the car out of the box! You absolutely must set the spring preload first. If you install them with the springs loose, your suspension will clunk over every bump and you will quickly blow out the shock seals. You need to tighten the upper collar until the spring is perfectly snug, add just a few millimeters of tension, and then firmly lock the collars together. For the price, this is a solid lowering kit as long as you take the time to inspect and prep them properly before installation. ... show more
