This clamp and ring set was too small for 3" tubing. ID is closer to 2.875". No slip joint for a proper weld so you have to grind a chamfer and butt weld to 3" OD, which is actually a little bigger than the weld rings. The clamp itself is suitable, but the bolt, as in other reviews, is too short for a proper seating on true 3" v bands. This would be acceptable if you were using it as a junction between exhaust sections, but it is completely unusable when trying to mate with a turbine housing that is true 3" v band surface. Purchased 2 for use on a customer car. The vbands are not interlocking to eachother, just 2 flat surfaces, so exhaust will leak without use of red rtv. The nut on the clamp itself is 1 time use. You will destroy the clamp removing it. Every time. Not to mention, short bolt length, and flimsy quality on the T of the t-bolt. Spend the extra $20 per and get interlocking vbands of better quality if you plan on actually having a usable product. ... show more

The thing that makes v-bands so effective is missing on these. There is no inner machined lip to encourage a better seal. These just sit flat together and render paying extra for an aircraft style clamp completely useless.

Very nice item, welded up clean and tight, there is not an alignment key so make the pipe on one side stick out a little so that the other side can go over that edge.

I’ve bought several sets of these over the last few years. I was impressed with the quality of the first few sets I bought, but lately the fit and finish has been lacking. The last pair I bought had no steps machined in the joint whatsoever, there is nothing to align the bands together and no step for the tubing to set in. I used the clamps to replace the battered ones on my car, but the rings are unusable. ... show more

Very nice good quality the v band I have three off these on my turbo car they work very well if I could change one thing it would be a little bit larger bolt. I will definitely be buying these in the future if I need the v bands

Way loose on 3" pipe, had to do quite a bit of work to get it square and fill the gap. Bolt on clamp barely long enough to engage nut with nothing in it, can't get it started at all with two pipes in there. Wish I'd bought a different brand.
