I'm a flashlight nut and have many expensive lights. My family kept borrowing my lights and not returning them. They also complained they were too complicated, too bright, and they dont understand how to charge them. The solution was to buy this 8 pack of semi disposable LED flashlights. I left the box out and everybody grabbed one. They are so simple to use, just one on off switch so now I have no more complaints. They like the brightness and that they are small and lightweight. The current draw is low, so battery life is very long, so I have not gotten a recharge complaint. And when the batteries finally give out, it takes common AA batteries and no lithium or charging confusion. I rarely give out 5 star reviews, good job Eveready. ... show more

These fit nicely in my hands, and are easy to stow away when not in use. I bought these originally to be able to see what was in my freezer in the garage. Since then have found other uses. Pleased with my purchase. So far battery use seems OK too.

Not much can go wrong with these. They're not those cheapo tactical zooming flashlights that are always failing. Just a simple durable flashlight that's so inexpensive you can get a bunch of them and have them all over the place.

I have a Wife and Daughter who were always "Borrowing" my Flashlights. I'm a Flashlight Snob. Nothing but Surefires, Streamlights, Olights, etc. Stuff that costs a lot, but work when I need them. My Wife and Daughter use one of my lights and it goes into a Black Hole somewhere, where it will be found 6 months later with dead batteries. Two days after using my light, they never can seem to remember where the flashlight is, or even what region of the house or property it might be in. So I decided to solve the problem. I bought a Dozen of these inexpensive little Eveready LED's and a humongous pack of spare batteries. These Women tend to take batteries out of flashlights to replace a battery in a remote or something. Then want to borrow another flashlight when they need one, because for some reason, a flashlight with only half the batteries doesn't seem to work. I place these little Eveready lights all around the house and keep a few spares beside my recliner. That way, when one of the Flashlight Monsters comes to steal my light, they can grab a cheapie and there will be a lot of extra batteries. Or there may be one near the bed, the toilet, the stove, chicken coop, the Hair dryer or wherever they decide to set it down and forget about it. Honestly, they are reasonably bright for their intended use and seem to be holding up to use by destructive unqualified and uncaring female individuals who don't appreciate a good light. If a Dozen of these seem to start dwindling in numbers, I'll order more. ... show more

First things first: When you open a flashlight to add batteries, or to activate one that came with batteries inside, look for a plastic or paper disc that is either on top or bottom of a battery or on the contact point of the screw-on lens or cap. That's a manfacturer's method of saving a battery from being activated prematurely, so remove the disc. My husband forgot to check, and decided a new flashlight kmust be defective. (Wrong!) If your new flashlight still doesn't work, you may have accidently inserted the batteries upside down, or in the wrong configuration. The spring at one end of the battery chamber is where the flat end goes, and the "nipple" end goes against the contact point. Some flashlights that have a more unusual configuration have a little battery diagram or at least plus and minuses by way of a reminder embossed inside the chamber. Enough said: We particularly like flashlights like these which are lightweight and relatively small. We have a townhouse with lots of stairs and hallways. In a sudden power failure, we may be enroute from one part of the house to another. If you have a similar situation, buy small stick-on removeable hooks by 3M or another trusted brand. Place a hook under every hall light switch and every stairwell light switch, then hang a lightweight flashlight like one of these on it. You'll be glad you did. We also leave appropriately sized flashlights within easy reach at our home office desks, small "clip ons" attached to overnight bags or "go bags", purses, inside briefcases, on the outside of backpacks, and near entrances/exits. Our advice is that people who generally rely on one or two battery- powered flashlights stuck in a drawer someplace should try thinking in terms of "what if", and consider taking some relatively inexpensive precautions. These little flashlights are an excellent way to start. Then one can consider adding solar lanterns, solar rechargers for phones, and so on. (We have those, too.) ... show more

    • Tiny flashlights, dim light

These flashlights are small. I mean, they are dollhouse small! They came with batteries already inside them. You have to open the flashlight, remove a circular piece of tape, and then they work. Three of the flashlights gave out a very dim light. One flashlight gave out a slightly brighter light. I assume that three of the flashlights I received will have dead batteries soon. A paper inside the box says, “Battery warning: Do not install backwards, charge, put in fire or mix with used or other battery types – may explode or leak causing injury.” The batteries inside the flashlights are Eveready super heavy duty, AA carbon zinc batteries. Does the warning mean that you can only use carbon zinc batteries with these flashlights? I think so. Both the flashlights and the batteries are made in China. The box calls these, “plastic lights.” Nowhere on the box does it say that these are flashlights. ... show more
