These work perfectly in my 2012 Toyota Prius. I installed them myself and there was nothing unexpected during the process. You will need a screwdriver, a socket wrench (10mm if memory serves), and a set of plastic "body tools" which can be found pretty cheap here on amazon. The only tricky part of the installation was getting underneath the car to detach the splash guard on the bottom. If you have a jack it won't be a problem - if you don't have a jack, it's still possible, but not fun. ... show more

    • New Headlights Got Water Inside Them In About 2-3 Weeks After Installation

I have owned many different kinds of cars and have never heard of headlights getting water in them until my 2012 Toyota Prius. I bought a set of these housings to replace the OEM housings that had water in them which caused the bulbs to malfunction. Two to 3 weeks after paying to have these housings installed I noticed one of my brand new headlights wasn't working properly. Upon inspection I noticed the moisture inside the housing, just like the 10 year old housings these replaced. After doing some online research, I discovered that apparently this is a thing with Prius headlights. Someone said they solved the problem by applying clear caulk to the housings. What?! I've never heard of having to seal headlight housings so they don't get water inside them, but I did it and it worked. First of all, I think it's crazy that headlight housings require sealing to prevent moisture from ruining the bulbs. But if this is the case, why doesn't the manufacturer say so? Instead, it's as if you're just supposed to spend $600 on parts and labor every few weeks. If you buy these headlight housings, buy some clear caulk and have it applied at installation or else you run the risk f having moisture ruin your lights. Ask your mechanic if they've ever heard of sealing headlight housings. ... show more
