  • I love the cameras, but...
I love these cameras. The quality is higher than my past ones, however there are some things I wish were different, Here's my experience in no particular order There is only about a 10 foot radius in which the motion detection picks up. For example, My camera on the side that picks up my sidewalk and crossed the street side walk will only pick up and record if someone is on my side walk. The other issue is that the recording doesn't even begin until after someone has been in it for- say 2 seconds? This is a big deal if someone is walking super fast I have the doorbell too and it is the same thing, Many a time I find a package at my door and there's no feed or only feed of the truck pulling away. So if they are super fast, the camera will miss them. The camera can however pick up small things too. It is kind of annoying that on the highest sensitivity setting, I can pick up every. single. time. my tree blows, yet couldn't pick up my husband moving our huge rv out of the back yard for 20 minutes. I find this bothersome in its own way. what if my rv was being stolen? it wouldn't pick it up... You can set the motion area, which I like a lot. one of our cameras would pick up every air plane (i know that's a larger distance than 10 feet!) so I was able to remove the air part of the motion. BUT you only get to set 3 boxes (on my door bell its a box that you can change the shape of like make it zig zag or whatever), I mention this because I wish they could reverse it and have the option of boxing out an area NOT to record- such as my 3 trees that set it off constantly. Because I could only set a max of 3 boxes around 2 trees, I couldn't record all of the area I want, so I am forced to record one of the trees and my phone is going off the hook because of it. It would be simpler if I could just hit the "do not record space" and just select a tree. Windy days make my phone go off the entire day and it is annoying to sort through 10000 videos to get to a single person. So far the battery life is holding up well. If you are looking at life feed, it uses more battery life, I love that if I look at life feed, there is a microphone option that I can press and talk through the camera. however, the audio is one way so if I use it to talk to my kids in the back yard, I cant here them talking while I talk and this happens on the recording as well. If I want to review a video, say at 10 am, and it is 5pm, I have to scroll down the entire days videos. The annoyance with this is, that say I accidently hit the 10:03 am video than go back, it always starts at the top at 5pm again and I have to scroll back down and repeat. If I do click on a video though, I can just swipe left or right and it will go to the next video. If a "persons face" is caught, it will show a separate icon of a person or their face. Sometimes it thinks my flag is a person though... (I wish it did this with everything though. It would be easier if I could see a snapshot of the thing that set off the cameras each time. it will sometime do this, but only with cars. i guess it has to be a big thing. i bring it up again, because my trees set it off, so I hardly ever know if the video was about my tree or a person or a car, so it can be annoying to sort through 30 videos of my tree moving to find a person walking.) I do not have much experience with it yet, but there is a way to filter videos like from which camera and such. I can not pick up the dogs and cats pooping in my yard, yet I can pick up the annoying crow that likes to jump into my trees. This is with the sensitivity at its highest, I think you need constant small jittery motions instead of a big smooth motion. I wish this was fixed. The program is very user friendly and I am not computer savvy, so this is very nice. That being said, I do get a little annoyed that my phone will go off and I want to check the feed but it always takes me to the live feed and than I have to fumble to get to the recording...There may be a way to fix that, but it is a hassle. it is also bothersome that you have to watch the entire recording each time. it has a pause and a courser to fast forward or rewind where you want to go in the video, but that never ever works. the pause on mine is a hit and miss. you can also zoom with your fingers. But like I said, if I want to see whom is walking past, I have to hit pause at the right moment (or watch the entire 1 min video again and try again until it pauses where I want) and zoom on the guys face it is pretty detailed. I love that I can share videos, download them to my phone, or donate them to police. I have used the share feature a few times and it makes getting the news to neighbors fast I love that the computers are one time paid and done. my neighbor with the ring door bell and cameras had their internet down, and unfortunately, a different neighbor had something happen. The ring cameras with the internet down were down and didn't catch anything, but my EUFY cameras did! (My father with a ring says our camera quality is better) The recorded audio is pretty good! I catch my neighbors walking, talking about things and I can clearly understand them and their gossip. Gives me a good laugh sometimes. Again that is only in that 10 foot radius thing. Overall I am happy I got the cameras. I feel they are a deterrent at the least and between mine and the others in the neighborhood we can communicate everything out of the ordinary. I applaud the programmers because they put TONS of thought into making the cameras user friendly and every angle the user would use. This tells me that the creators really care about giving their customers a top notch product where the customer would be satisfied for life. Love that it is pay once and not a monthly or yearly thing. I recommend these cameras to everyone and have convinced a few to get them as well. I plan to get more to fill in the gaps of my house. I know I put a bunch of cons, but the pros are better than any other camera I have seen and the cons are more my personal opinion. ... show more

  • Good camera system with some advertised features lacking in quality
Have had this system installed in my house for 2 months now, 2 cameras outside, 1 inside (later expanded to 2 inside) so I think I have a good idea on how it will work for us. First of all, the good. The lack of needing to run wires is wonderful, and all the cameras are still showing full battery. Installation and functionality of the cameras themselves is perfect, haven't had any issues with signal even though 2 of the cameras are quite far from our WiFi router. (It likely helps I have a quality router and not a cheap one). Setup of the software is also quite simple and easy. The ease of viewing camera footage while not home and on the WiFi is also very convenient. Picture quality despite being 1080p is very clear and easy to see what's going on. I am very happy with that part. Ease of use in the app to see the pictures is also nice too, although an option on the main page to resize the preview pictures of the cameras would be nice. The app itself for the most part functions well (except for the negatives later), easy to navigate the options, and adding in additional cameras. The 2 way talking option also works surprisingly well. You do get some weird feedback sometimes when using it but someone by the camera can hear you fine, and you can hear them. It's a nice feature. Overall it is a good cheap system, but I do have some not small issues with it. First of all the range at which these detect movement is rather paltry. On both the indoor and outdoor cameras, you have to get within probably 10 feet of the camera for it to trigger movement. That really isn't that far, but I mean they are for the most part right next to doors. I'd rather it be a bit farther though. Along the same lines of motion detection, despite the "human detection" feature, my neighbors cat who loves to wonder around our yard at night has been featured many times on our events in the morning, so not sure that algorithm is really working well. Finally, we get to my biggest issue and why it got 3 stars. The geofencing mode simply doesn't work reliably enough to even be usable. It's a nice idea, but it just doesn't work. My wife and I both have android phones, me a Pixel and her a Samsung. Neither of them can reliably work enough for this mode to not go randomly into Away mode even if we've spend all day at the house (we both work from home). There's also been multiple occasions for me to be walking to the bathroom at 4:00 AM and the system goes into away mode on it's own (even though my phone is on and sitting on it's charger) and the camera alarm gives me an early heart attack. There's just no rhyme or reason when it decides to no longer register me being home, and then all the alarms I've setup for Away mode go nuts. I can't imagine if I had paid for the 24/7 monitoring with them, they'd probably be really pissed off by this point with the amount of false positives. I think this geofencing feature should just be scrapped and re-built, cause in doing internet research on ways to fix it, there are MANY other people online who have expressed similar displeasure with this mode. I really do like many things about this system, but the big issue with the geofencing is impossible to get over and why I knock this down 2 stars. It could be fixed with updates, and I hope Eufy programmers are working on it, so perhaps in the future this could be updated. If it does improve, I will be sure to edit/leave another review. ... show more
