When it comes to hammers, Estwing is my go-to! They may be a bit pricy, but I have had several of them for over 30 years. The rubberized grip and the full-length steel handle bar makes for a very sturdy tool.

It's more expensive than wood handle hammers, but you'll never need to worry about the head coming loose or flying off. The one-piece steel design does make it heavier than wood handled, so keep that in mind when ordering. It feels closer to 40oz than 32oz in the hand. The handle grip is comfortable to use and does a good job of not transferring vibration and shock to the hands. The sides of the shaft are not painted on mine, just polished a bit. I was kinda hoping it would be, to guard against rust, but it's not that big of a deal. ... show more
