This was my first time trying an Estée Lauder product, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, even though I know it’s a high-end brand. I’ve been used to products with a mix of shine and sheen, so when I tried this blush, I skipped the tiny brush and swirled both the blush and highlighter together in one swipe. I really like that the formula isn’t overly pigmented and it’s soft, buildable, and easy to control. I was initially worried it might be too cool-toned for me, but it ended up looking great on my cheeks. As for the 12-hour wear claim, I can’t fully confirm it. It did start to fade after a few hours, and I was partially outdoors and went on a 15-minute walk. Still, it gives a lovely, natural finish that I enjoy.

You can always rely on Estee Lauder for high quality makeup. I ordered the ‘Open Secret’ which contains 2 different items: a warm matte pink blush which is a beautifully natural color and also a rose gold highlighter to create definition and a sun kissed look. I was surprised by how effective the brush was that came with this item. The brush is actually the optimal size and shape for applying blusher to the cheek area and the powder’s consistency is perfect so it doesn’t apply too thickly. You can apply it in subtle layers until you get the depth of color you’re looking for. Finally, I like the high quality compact that this blush duo comes in and that it includes a decent sized mirror. In summary, I would definitely recommend this item. Yes, it’s on the pricier side for a blusher but the price reflects the quality of the product and that old saying…you get what you pay for.

First, I adore Estée Lauder products in general; however, I am much more knowledgeable about the brand's skin care line than their makeup. So I ordered this product to see how they fare with cosmetics. I'll start by saying the color and compact are exactly as they were represented! I'm thrilled to report that the color is absolutely true and the product is of the highest quality. It comes in a compact despite the description stating that it is a blush "refill." I have medium-fair skin and rarely wear much makeup these days, so I look for natural colors in general. I will wear more dramatic colors and more color at times; but for daily wear, I typically go light. This color is very close to my own skin color, but provides a little glow. I really like it, and it truly does represent the brand quite well. For those who can afford it, this blush is definitely among the best of all top-tier cosmetics!

I have fair skin with cool undertones. At first glance this would be too dark for me, but if you use a light touch when applying the color can be adjusted as needed. Skin preparation does matter, as less is needed on a face that has foundation applied versus bare skin. My photo shows application with the supplied brush against my forearm. Considerably less was needed to apply color to my cheeks. It will be easy to build color to be more dramatic as desired. The blush itself was very silky, applied smoothly, and looks to me like it will last for quite a while.
