New formula is great. Does what it promises. It is much thinner and a bit tacky but then it goes away when it settles down, it does give you a blur affect when it settles/dries down and it definitely closes your pores and plumps your skin. It is not as drying as the original formula. The color is the same, although there’s just a slight very slight difference. ORIGINAL: Brighter masks color and not hydrating NEW: Brighter second skin looking and softer, hydrates and plumps. That’s the only difference. AS YOU CAN SEE IN PICS PICK A: My pores are open and I just applied one thin coat. Best place to test is the nose where the light hits the most and if it blends with your cheek tone, then it’s for you. PICK B: it has settled in and dried. Pores are closed, blur affect has kicked in. Skin feels hydrated. BEST PART IS THE FOUNDATION IS FLEXIBLE AND MOVES WITH YOUR SKIN, AS WELL IT DOES NOT SETTLE INTO WRINKLES or MRIONETTE LINES or AROUND SMILE MOUTH LINES or EYE WRINKLES. Truly stays in place and it doesn’t budge. Order your original shade you will notice a slight very slight difference, but it’s still the same good quality as far as pigmentation and in fact, although it is thinner, it is buildable and pigmented very well. Buy it you won’t regret it. It’s the best foundation. For reference, I am 60 years old, use 3W2 Cashew and have been using Estée Lauder for many, many years. It is still top-notch number one foundation out there.

As a longtime user of Double Wear for over 15 years, this reformulation is incredibly disappointing. The updated version does not perform like the original that so many of us relied on. One of the most noticeable changes is in the shade range. My previous shades (1N2 and 2C0 depending on the season) now appear significantly darker and much more orange than before. Even when trying one of the lightest shades available(1C0), it still pulls orange on the skin. This seems to be consistent across undertones—cool, neutral, and warm shades all lean overly orange. In terms of wear, the foundation separates on the skin and does not hold up throughout the day. Even when set with powder and setting spray, it begins to break down and look patchy after just a few hours. For those with oily skin, it no longer delivers the long-lasting, matte finish that made it a staple product for years. Unfortunately, due to these changes, I will have to switch to a different foundation, as this no longer provides the quality or performance I’ve trusted for over a decade.

I LOVED Double Wear years ago, it was my holy grail foundation. I stopped wearing foundation for a while when I got more focused on skincare, but recently decided to get back into makeup a bit. I’ll admit, I was hesitant to try the reformulated version since my skin is combination (leans oily) and can be acne-prone. But this is just as good as I remember, maybe even better. It truly stays put all day. No transferring onto clothes, no sliding around, and it doesn’t settle weirdly into pores. There’s zero cakiness, which is impressive considering the coverage. It gives that smooth, even look without feeling heavy. I apply it with a damp beauty blender over my moisturizer, and it blends flawlessly. It really looks like my skin, just more even toned and polished. I’m so glad I gave this a try again. It makes my skin look more even-toned and a little more youthful, which is exactly what I was hoping for. I’d definitely recommend it, especially if you have normal-to-oily skin and want something long wearing that still looks natural.

Apply with a damp sponge for best application. It is a full coverage, beautiful foundation. Only drawback is I feel there are far too many color shades to choose from which made it a bit overwhelming. It is far too expensive to make a mistake and order the wrong shade.

I understand wanting a foundation for all skin types.. but why not make a second foundation instead of changing the formula on arguably the best foundation out there? I do not like the new formula at all. It feels thick and looks cakey on my skin and it’s sticky to the touch. I have an oily skin type. Maybe this works great for people with dry skin but I am not enjoying this new formula to the point I’m considering switching foundations after YEARS of loyalty to Estée Lauder Double Wear 😭 The exact color I’ve worn for years is also too dark now with the new formula. Yes I can get a new color match, but now I’m stuck with a $55 (with tax) bottle of foundation that’s too dark, until I run out. If you already have the best of the best… why change it?!?!!!! p.s. I NEVER leave reviews on anything but this is ruining my life lol

I’m currently using Missha perfect cover serum BB cream but wanted something with more coverage so decided to try foundation. I had heard so many ppl rave about this product so thought I would give it a try. Sadly this foundation made me look awful. It separated/caked immediately and I had dry patches, despite always doing a hydrating skin prep. I’m in my 40s and my skin is a bit more dry now with somewhat of a semi oily tzone, combo I guess. So I make sure to always keep my skin hydrated. The foundation is creamy but if you don’t have the pump be careful when applying it to your sponge/brush/hand because a lot will come out. Makeup is all about trial and error and just because this didn’t work for me doesn’t mean it won’t work for you. Also, I have rosacea and this did not do well covering up the redness. Remember if you have a silicone foundation to make sure all your makeup is compatible and vice-a-versa if foundation is water based.
