This was my first time trying the Estee Lauder double wear matte powder foundation. Having never used a powder foundation before, I really didn't have high hopes. I am really fascinated by how well it works and how it provides great flawless coverage. The applicator sponge has two sides - the velvet side is for medium coverage and the sponge side is for full coverage. I choose to use the velvet side and get perfect coverage without any powdery buildup or creasing. It just perfectly evens out my skin and leaves me with a nice glow, and I do not need to use any other products on my face. It is perfect in the warmer weather, and you don't feel like you have anything on your face. It literally lasts all day and does not settle into fine lines. I will say that the color does go on a bit darker than the color you see in the compact, so choose your color with that in mind. I went with 4C1 Outdoor Beige, and I thought it looked light in the package, but once applied it was perfect. I have normal skin (not dry and not oily) and am in my 50's for reference. I will definitely purchase this product again!

I love Estée Lauder and have used their liquid foundations in the past so I was excited to try their powder foundation. The compact is gorgeous and has a mirror built in which is perfect to keep in the purse. I am very fair but found the color cool bone to match well to my skin tone. I highly recommend using a good primer prior to using the powder foundation as it gives you a more clean and smooth finish. I will say the powder foundation is more for light coverage. I will say I keep this in my purse for touching up throughout the day.

I wish I could give this ten stars. I never realized how much a powder foundation was better for my skin type than a liquid. Liquid always leaves me looking weird and dried and patchy. I can put this powder on after my skin care in the morning and it settles onto my face quite nicely. I don't wear a lot of makeup but I do have hereditary dark circles that are hard to cover. This covers them nicely (not 100%) but enough to still look natural and not so wiped out all the time. The color matched my skin tone perfectly, the packaging itself is very well made and very pretty. There is a hidden makeup applicator sponge underneath the powder itself.

I have an oily skin type and need to have a matte finish look in a hot humid summer days. Estée Lauder Double Wear Liquid Foundation is my summer favorite makeup. Then, I see this Double Wear in a Powder Form. I know I have to give it a try. Included double sides applicator is just right to apply different thickness where needed. It's a little lighter than the liquid version making it easier to wear without heavy feel on the skin. It's easier to keep it in my purse for a touch up on the go as well.

I've never seen a compact that comes without an applicator before, but this one only has the copressed powder in the case. I'm not even sure that there'd be room to stash your own in pad/applicator in the case, because even though it's wider than most, there isn't much room between the powder and the mirror. I find that very odd, since the product weight is only half of the popular brand that I usually buy (and my brand is less than 20% of the price of this). When I applied this with my makeup brush, the product left a lot of spr9inkles in the compact. I could even see them floating a bit in the surrounding air. So name brand or not, applicator included or not, extraordinarily high price or not, I don't recommend this at all.

This is so nice. I have some problems with my skin, namely that it is often very pink and inflamed looking, this light but opaque powder really does help, it is subtle but I think that it could make my skin look almost normal and that is a huge win for me. I chose the color alabaster, it most closely matches the parts of my face that are unaffected and on those parts this powder blends right in leaving little sign that I am even wearing makeup. The powder has zero scent and is easy to blend, I do think it is worth it to get a high quality puff for application. This is a high quality matte powder foundation, but I don't know how long it will last if you have to use a large amount (like me to cover stains) to create a smooth look.
