This is a beautiful sheer orange with a glossy finish. It applies smoothly, looks even on the nails, and has a lovely translucent quality. It lasts about a week with minimal chipping and doesn’t crack easily. Overall, a gorgeous color and excellent quality. Highly recommended!

I LOVE these polishes! I bought Apricot Jelly & Buttercup Jelly, because they were on sale for $5, an excellent price to try a new type of polish. I spent decades biting my nails & although I stopped 16 years ago, aging has caused them to thin so much that they easily tear & peel. I thought I’d try these jelly polishes to see how they look on my tiny nails. I love wearing nail polish, but solid, bold colors make my bitten nails stand out too much. Enter Essie’s jelly polishes to save the day! I can wear color without making my bitten nails stand out. Both Apricot Jelly & Buttercup Jelly are beautiful colors. Apricot Jelly is reminiscent of pumpkin & is perfect for fall. Buttercup Jelly is reminiscent of fresh Irish or grass-fed butter, perfect for spring or when I want to wear a white color without actually wearing white. As with all Essie polishes, they apply beautifully & last long. I always use Essie’s base coat & a quick dry top coat, which go a long way to extend wear. It is easy to apply, it is shiny and quite transparent. There are two coats on the picture. That said, the polish did not give me the jelly texture that I was looking for. Cannot say much about chipping, because the color is pretty light, meaning that chipping at the very end is not that noticeable. Large chipping does not occur much. By the way, I have heard that nails have to be properly hydrated before applying polish to make it last longer. ... show more

this product is so bad that it has genuinely put me off of buying other essie products for a bit. i generally really love essie polishes so i was surprised by how bad this one is! i feel like the color (blush jelly) doesn’t look as advertised and it certainly doesn’t provide a syrupy, jelly finish. it’s super difficult to get an even application, and because i can’t apply it in thin layers, it ends up bubbling up. i was so surprised by how bad this polish looks that i thought maybe i had been sent the wrong one, but nope. there are way too many other brands now making jelly-type polishes to bother with this one. the best thing i can say is that it has good staying power but i dont even care because it looks uggo so i want to take it off. :( ... show more

This nail polish is so fun. It can be used alone but where it really shines (pun intended) is as a top coat over other colors. Applied on top of another color if gives a metallic sheen and also tends to lighten the color. I have had dark burgundy go to a bright metallic red and white to more of a pearl. The more coats you use, the more metallic. I always get compliments when I add this chrome coat to my manicures.
