I absolutely love the Essie Gel Couture top coats. Best I've used. Top reason: they dry instantly. I mean, aren't we all so over sitting and waiting for our nails to dry so we can get on with life? Seriously, this is a game changer for at home manicures. As a top coat, it does its job protecting the polish beneath. I do 1-2 coats and am usually good for 5 days or so. If I haven't started chipping by then, I'll add another coat to see if I can get a few more days. I also love using these over the nail stickers. With those, I add weeks to the life of the set. Weeks. I always keep both the matte and clear on hand at home. The matte top coat is something I didn't know I needed in my life. I feel like nails are expected to be super shiny. But I really love the matte finish. Sometimes it's just right to take down a super bright pink and make it a bit more mellow. ... show more

I would give a full 5 stars for the smooth-as-glass shine this gives my nails except for one issue— I use nail polish wraps, and this top coat causes them to shrink and lift a little around the edges. I’m trying to figure out a way to keep that from happening because it is otherwise perfect and I want to keep using it! ... show more

Essie GC is the best polish that doesn't require a lamp. I used to have a whole setup and have used many polish from various brands. The Essie Gel Couture has lasted the longest for me vs the others. So when I got rid of the fake nail setup and my lamp I decided to only use this formula. It just makes my life easier. The two shiny nails in the pic don't have a top coat bc I was just swatching. I love the shiny top coat in this line and don't even buy seche vite anymore right now. The other two nails have the matte top coat from this line. You can't really tell from the pics but it actually looks elegant in real life. The colors in the first photo are Coastal Couture (lighter peach) and Sequins on the Rocks (warm raspberry.) The second photo shows Pinned Up. Other colors (I'll try to post pics later) Spiked with Style - very similar to Chanel Rouge Noir, which allegedly began as a red polish colored over with a black marker. Model Clicks - looks like Wicked, which is Essie's original dupe for Chanel Rouge Noir but actually both Wicked and its GC dupe Model Clicks lean a bit cooler. ... show more
