I'm trying to grow out my damaged nails, and this has been the best at-home nail polish for me. I don't use a base coat, and although I apply several coats of Essie Gel Couture, I let each coat dry thoroughly before applying the next. So, I would say the drying time is a bit longer than regular nail polish. I didn't have the Gel Couture top coat, so I used a regular top coat I have at home instead. This worked well for me, and the polish lasts a long time on my nails with no chipping. Very pleased. The color Bodice Goddess is a light, sheer lilac shade. The color is barely noticeable and almost a clear polish with a hint of pink, but I’m using it as a base coat and put a different color on top. The regular Essie polish comes in so many more shades than the gel. I use the gel polish as a base coat, a regular Essie polish on top of that and the Gel topcoat on top of that. All dry super quick and stays on better than any other polish I have used. I give Essie polish 5 stars, but this color being so sheer, I gave it a 3. Perhaps I missed the sheer description when buying this, but do t think I did. ... show more

This review is really for the Bodice Goddess color: Not any of the other colors for which Amazon won't allow me to review independently. Nice product, misleading picture. Product received intact and on time. The polish was also sheer. The problem, for me, was that the color did not match what I received, nor was it the color that was actually painted on my nails. It is much more "lilac", or more purple than I wanted, expected and liked after application. So, I am donating it to a friend. ... show more

I purchased this based on a recommendation from a friend who typically only wears nude/sheer polishes. I tried it out as the base color for my strawberry themed nails and was really happy with how smooth the nail polish applied and how evenly it settled before drying. It’s a really flattering shade and I definitely recommend this polish. Typically, I find this Essie formula to last upwards to 2 weeks when I apply a base coat, top coat, and am careful with my nails (not soaking them in water, no picking or peeling things with my nails) ... show more
