Practice, practice, practice.
Format: Paperback
I've been playing the piano on and off since I was 8. I always hated scales, but they do help with strengthening your hands, so I bought this to get back to basics. It's a great book, and a great reference for scales, chords, and arpeggios.

I've purchased 20+ copies as a piano teacher of 13+ years
Format: Paperback
I'm a piano teacher and recently switched from one scales book to this one across the board from my elementary piano students all the way to my most advanced students. The visuals on each page and the way there are progress charts to color in/fill out have been such a hit with all of my students. Over the past couple months, I've ordered nearly 20 of these books and plan on continuing with these! I love the layout and how it gives me a great door to teach students about the circle of fifths right away! ... show more

Great for Beginner-Intermediate Students
Format: Paperback
As a beginner adult piano student, I enjoy the layout of this book more than Alfred’s Complete Book of Scales, Chords, & Arpeggios. Alfred’s assumes the reader is well regarded in their reading skills and everything presented done so by reading notes on a staff. It does not contain diagrams of the keys. This book does have diagrams of the keys for each scale and their fingering, alongside notes on a staff. In short: for starting and intermediate students, this books presentation may offer more. For more advanced students, Alfred’s may be a better choice. ... show more

A great book to learn scales
Format: Paperback
Im really liking this book! Im self taught and never really played scales before but wanted to check it out. This is my second scales book and i like it much better than my first one. First of all, they are nice and big, making reading them a lot easyer. The fingerings are marked and even piano diagrams. It starts out with pentascales and goes up 3 more levels. I cant talk for anyone else but this book is great for me and I am learning from this book. :) Happy with purchase! ... show more

A time saver for piano students
Format: Paperback
This book contains what you need to get an overview of all scales. All pages have the same structure. This makes it easy to use both as a textbook and a reference book. I would give the content five stars, but what lets it down a bit is the somewhat poor print quality.

Good for reference, great for study!
Format: Paperback
It really is a good reference for me, and a great book for those who are learning scales and wish to progress to more advanced levels. The explanations are clear, the suggestions are sound. As a reference tool it is good to be able to quickly find that 'somethings I had not thought of in a while!
