My favorite part of this case is the stand, which is very useful when watching videos. The case is fairly slim, sturdy and fits nicely. This is my second case after a year because the first one didn't hold up very well.     • Quality, design and usefullness
The case material is quite transparent yet has a very slight soft feel allowing a good grip. Access to all controls is good. Slightly raised edges offer reasonable screen and camera lens protection without adding bulk. The real hero here’s is the kickstand which is unusual from the standpoint of it’s ability to be positioned in any location within it’s range of motion. It adds only a small amount of thickness to the case. It also works well vertically as well as horizontal. To be incorporated in a case that provides reasonable protection is a plus. Finally, although I only charge my iPhone 12 Pro Max with it’s cable, the kickstand appears to be positioned far enough to one end to allow wireless charging. My only wish would be to incorporate this kickstand in a leather case as well as some additional designs. ... show more

    • Exemplary customer service; case is sleek but missing some advertised functionality.
UPDATE: ESR’s customer service took it upon themselves to reach out to me after I left this review, with troubleshooting tips regarding the charging issue (they said to make sure the metal on the case wasn’t touching the charger as that can interfere), and offering a full refund or replacement, at my option and without requesting that I return the original case I received. What’s more impressive is that they tried twice — their first email got snagged by my spam filter and they sent a follow up message since I didn’t respond to the first one. If you’re having issues with the charger, try adjusting how it’s lying on your charger. I hadn’t intended to return this, because it’s not a bad case, even though it didn’t quite meet my expectations; it does provide protection with a precise fit on the phone, and the kickstand works very well in landscape/horizontal orientation. The proactive and excellent customer service warrants adding another star, since it’s a risk free purchase, and the case may well be perfect for your usage and charging habits. Thus, I’ve changed my rating for this product. This looks nice and feels like it will protect the phone reasonably well. It’s got a good texture to help the phone not feel slippery. But the kickstand doesn’t work in portrait orientation, and adds enough thickness to the rest of the case that it won’t charge wirelessly on my charger that is big and flat. I think it would probably be ok if your charger is one of the small ones that you balance your phone on where it only covers the middle of the phone, but mine is a large flat space (just a bit bigger than this phone) and it props it up enough not to work. I’m not annoyed enough by these issues to return it, but I definitely won’t buy this case again when it starts yellowing, etc., because those two points were specifically why I chose this case over other similar cases. If the kickstand worked in both orientations I think I’d be able to make my peace with the charging issue, but not having that will make it harder for me to FaceTime with people while keeping my hands free to type or otherwise work with my hands, which I need to do often. ... show more

    • phone life made easier in several ways
i really like this case, as it is easy to get on and off, but not so easy that it slips off at the touch of a finger. the stand is a great feature and makes seeing your phone easy w/out having to move it or interrupt what you are doing to pick it up. also great for facetime/zoom and videoing. my only ding is that if the phone rings while in the vertical position on the stand it falls over. not a really big deal, just maybe food for thought for next version. overall love the product ... show more

Update: ESR reached out to me after my review to address my concerns. The TPU is not treated with any chemicals so that’s why it would discolor after a bit of UV exposure (I think). Anyways, they offered to replace the case. They gave me the black version of the case. Let me tell you, the black case is so much better. Do yourself a favor and get the black one. It’s really nice and offers solid protection. Unless you want to show off your iPhone color, then get the clear one but keep in mind that at some point it will discolor (yellow). Thus I have changed my rating to a 5 because of the customer service and the quick replacement. Old: The case is actually durable and protects the phone but the BIG issue is the case yellows very very quickly. In fact, my case started yellowing after only 1 week. This seems to be a common complaint unfortunately. I should of gotten the black version. ... show more

I purchased this case approximately 5 months ago. It was great at first, but over time, the case has yellowed and it has actually become warped (to the point where my phone will come out of it if I pick it up the wrong way). Other than the durability, the kickstand is quite useful and sturdy. My only critique on the kickstand is that when using the kickstand to prop your phone horizontally, the volume buttons are on the bottom (meaning you have to pick up the phone to change the volume). It would have been better if the kickstand was oriented the other way so that the volume buttons would be on the top when the phone is horizontal. The kickstand issue is quite minor and doesn't affect my use of the case in a major way. Other than those two issues, I think it is a good case. I wasn't sure how useful the kickstand would be at first, but after using it, I can say it's quite a nice thing to have! ... show more
