I wasn’t familiar with any fragrances from Escada before stumbling across this YUM one. I love scents that smell like tanning oil and summer and musk and the slightest bit of vanilla and that is exactly how I’d describe this one. If you are familiar with SdJ, it’s almost like they melded at least two of the signature parts of SdJ scents. And if you love SdJ the way I do, pretty good chance you’ll love this one too. Turns out Escada is one of the MANY lines from Coty! I’ve known Coty since I was a child and I’m OLD now. Go look up Coty. They are huge! They are responsible for everything from drugstore endcap fragrances to some seriously high-end products. This Cascada line is somewhere in the middle. As I mentioned above, the fragrance is a combo of suntan oil but without the heavy coconut (it’s there, but it’s VERY mild), musk, a hint of vanilla, and lots of tropical notes. It screams summer or island vacations. But it’s also musky enough that I’m positive I won’t be able to wear it in the summer, as my own notes of menopausal grossness will not blend well with it. It doesn’t take much of a spritz to make a statement, it is VERY long lasting to the point where when I wore it to an event last night, I could still smell it on me when I woke up this morning. It also leaves its trace in the room where I spray it, as I could smell more of it in our bedroom last night when we got home. Again, not a complaint and merely an observation. The bottle is so pretty! It looks exactly as pictured, and I’ve included my own photos with bottle in hand to hopefully help with estimation of size. It’s 1.6 ounces and labeled on the bottom so it should be completely TSA-travel safe. Highly recommend, and will definitely be ordering more from Escada.

This is the smell of summer. From the first spray, it just feels bright and juicy with citrus and sweet fruit that instantly lifts my mood. The floral notes add a nice freshness that keeps it light but interesting, and it stays warm and sweet throughout the day. My skin has a tendency to eat up citrus fragrances, so they don't last very long, but this had a great hang around time of about 6 hours before it disappeared. I did catch whiffs of it longer, though, so maybe I just went a little nose blind to it. The bottle design is so beautiful, too. It's small and fits easily in a purse or beach bag, and the color makes it feel bright and cheerful. This will be a great go-to for warm weather days, casual weekends and any time I want that happy summer vibe.
