Description

The evolution of the successful GE1. The new rider-oriented, ergonomic grip for wide riser bars. Thanks to the feedback collected from countless riders of the Enduro World Series, the Ergon design team succeeded in further improving the popular GE1 in certain details. Surface texture is now even more slip- proof and the rubber compound softer, lending constant precise grip. It actively supports the correct torso/forearm position during downhill riding – by rotating the grip area towards the steering axle by 8 % the elbows are automatically outwardly raised! Forged inner clamp, fully integrated grip end connected to the inner core (Pat. Pending) – this establishes a soft, damping grip edge, and your hand can grip right at the outer edge. Pressure is diminished from the sensitive ulnar nerve, which is located on the outside hand. Compatible with carbon handlebars.

Switched over from a pair of raceface round grips on my Kona process a few months ago. Love them, they help me keep good posture, feel comfortable, and good grip. I almost always ride with poc gloves. I never had hand pain riding, but I did literally break my hand skiing in April and they feel… well… decent enough (using silverware, etc is tough). 1.5 YEARS IN BUYING ANOTHER PAIR The rubber is super soft and tacky and it wears down faster than others. Also, the plastic endcap does get beat up in crashes. I wish it would last longer, but obviously then grippyness and weight would be worse… 1.5 years of hard riding isn’t too bad, I’d love to have a rear tire last that long lol. I think the ergonomic contour is very slight, barely noticeable, but great at keeping your hands consistent, which helps technique. Hand is back to 98%, still constant feeling of wanting to crack my knuckles. ... show more

I resisted buying these grips for a long time. I’ve been an ODI guy forever and loved their feel. Something about the look of these things always turned me away. I finally got a set and I’m sure glad I converted. I love the feeling and the comfort. They’re very grippy and comfortable on the palm of the hand. My bike came with some horrible grips so I swapped to these. The grip on these are awesome and without gloves does not cause discomfort. My wrist pain has decreased since getting them but I still experience it after a while. This could be based on how I hold onto the grips rather the grips themselves. May look into Ergon's paddle paddle shaped grips to help with wrist pains. ... show more

I run GE1 Evo Factory grips on all my mountain bikes. They are durable, compliant, and function extremely well in all situations. Their asymmetrical shape fits the hand nicely vs. more conventional cylindrical grips. They wear very well vs. softer styles. NOTE these are not particularly "squishy" so if you prefer that (for example Deity Supracush) these might not be ideal for you. Ditto if you like to ride bare-handed vs. wearing gloves (which I think is nuts but people do it!). Ergon makes quality components - you'll be happy with these... ... show more

Most lock-on grips have a plastic core that makes the grips feel harsh, These grips have no plastic under the palms to give them more cushion under the palms. No outer clamp, again more comfortable under the palms. They have an asymmetric shape that adds a bit more sweep to the bars. They last a reasonable long time. ... show more

I love the tacky soft feel and shape of these grips. I feel the most confident on the my bike riding with these grips. It puts me in a naturally good riding position. The only negative is that there's really no protection for the bar ends. They get torn up quickly in a crash, making them look ugly. The black set shown is my old set in standard thickness. Other than it looking ugly, it was still completely usable. I finally got a new set of blue ones in slimline. I also got a new set of gloves with added palm protection and vibration damping. This combo soaks up vibrations far better than the standard thickness grips with standard MTB gloves. I would recommend these grips for those who want the best performance regardless of their fragility. Ergon can improve these grips by redesigning bar-ends with crash-resistant materials. ... show more
