This is a difficult review to write. I would like to give 5 stars, or maybe 1, but I can't because even though I ultimately do have 4 functional stools it took a while to get there. Two stools were perfect, two stools weren't. The two that were perfect assembled quickly and looked great, very comfortable. The painted finish is flawless, the upholstered top is a pretty medium gray, like a pewter tone. But the two stools that weren't perfect really, really weren't. One top had a dark smudge mark on the cushion, a screw hole was stripped, the other cushion had the edge trim falling off, stitching on the cushion was misaligned/doubled up/pulled out and re-stitched. I contacted the seller and they offered a discount plus offered to send replacement parts. Very fair. Then they decided to send 2 completely new stools which was more than fine with me. Unfortunately, they were not in stock and it would be weeks to get the replacements. The seller offered a substantial discount instead which I accepted. I worked on the imperfections for a while, was able to lighten the stain somewhat, repaired the edge trim, bought new screws for the leg. I couldn't do anything about the stitching. If at some point it becomes possible to buy only a pair instead of a set of four I will. The seller responded promptly and was a pleasure to work with. Terrific customer service.

The stools seem well made and I like the comfy seat cushions but the paint on 6 of the legs was really messed up, which is frustrating since they seem well made and was easy to put together. Still debating on just returning them and finding something else.
