    • Easy set up and makes it easier and safer to walk around with a tablet at work/job site/outdoors.
I'm using with my Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+; measurements are 11.24 x 7.30 x 0.22 in. It weighs 581g. The display is 12.4 inches. This tablet holder states it will hold tablets ranging from 9"-12", so my tablet at 12.4" is just outside that range. That said, I was able to make it work because the 4 corner rubber straps/loops are stretchy and flexible. The back of the holder (the side that touches the tablet) is padded and thick to give some cushion and prevent any scratches or scuffs to your device. The holder is mostly open which allows unfettered access to all the buttons and ports; including the camera(s). This also keeps airflow access which prevents overheating. The hand strap is very easy to adjust (Velcro) and has the ability to rotate 360° so your tablet can be held in any orientation. The shoulder strap is also adjustable between 44"-66" so should probably work for most people. I do have the "Samsung Galaxy Tab Smart Book Cover" installed on my device as well. It's basically two pieces- a front and a back- that are magnetically joined at the "spine". I just pulled the front off and left the back in tact and was able to slip the Ergodyne holder onto my tablet. This protects the back of my tablet and holds the S-Pen in place with the added functionality of the hand strap and shoulder strap (when installed). There is also a pen/stylus loop on the "squid" which is nice. It is very easy to take the shoulder strap on and off (it attached at 2 opposite corners of the hand strap. When I'm just walking around with my tablet or multitasking the hand strap is great. It makes it very easy to hold the tablet to read ebooks or watch YouTube without having to balance it like I used to. When using for work or more demanding tasks I'll attach the shoulder strap and it keeps my tablet safe and secure and very easy to put it off to the side (hanging on my person) with the ability to pick it right back up. I think the price is a little high. I know Ergodyne Squids is a pretty well known brand for stuff like this, mail worker and package handler equipment, tethers for hand tools (I've used and owned a few myself). It also seems this particular holder (5549) may be a little new as I was unable to find it anywhere else online other than their website with no reviews whatsoever. I took a chance on it and I'm glad I did. It keeps my device that much more secure while also keeping it within reach. I think I'd recommend to others looking for this utility in similar situations, but I would like to see the price go down- even if only by 10 bucks or so. ... show more

The Ergodyne Squids 5549 Tablet Holder with Detachable Shoulder Strap is an incredibly nifty item. There's a tablet holder that attaches to the corners of the tablet. The tablet holder has a band that you can slip your hand through which makes it possible to hold the tablet without having to grasp it using your fingers. I greatly appreciate the strap that I can put my hand through as I tend to end up with finger, thumb, and wrist pain if I'm forced to grasp my tablet using my fingers and thumb. There's also a detachable shoulder strap that can go over 1 shoulder or be worn as crossbody. I am thrilled by this detachable strap as it means that I don't have to worry about losing my tablet due to setting it down somewhere. While not having to worry about losing or not dropping my tablet is quite a relief, I do feel that the price of this tablet holder is a little steep. Though it's nowhere near as steep as buying a new tablet. I do like being able to keep up with my tablet without thinking about it, especially while at an airport or on an airplane. Regardless of the price, I do recommend this tablet holder with a detachable strap. (My star rating system: 4 stars met my expectations, 5 stars exceeded my expectations, 3 stars fell short of my expectations, 2 stars significantly fell short of my expectations, 1 star highly suggest not ordering) ... show more

When I go on a walk on a trail, it can be very boring after the first few minutes. Always wished I can carry my tablet along and watch a movie or play some less intense games while walking. This fits the bill! The strap length is adjustable, and comfortable to wear around your neck(even when you are sweating a bit). The tablet will fit into the holder which can probably hold up to 10 inch. My tablet is exactly 10 inch so it's a perfect fit. If you have an Ipad it will fit well too. You can put one hand below the tablet to grab it(there's this grip under) to prevent it from dangling around. Or, if you are watching a movie maybe it's not that important since you don't have to stare at it all the time. The tablet will connect to the bluetooth earbud so it will be a good theatre experience on the trail! ... show more

    • Nice idea, too bulky, too hard to get on
I really wanted to love this tablet holder. I just can't though. It's bulky, which isn't a deal killer but it's definitely annoying. The rubber loops that go over the corners of the screen are really strong and hard to stretch. If I put all four of them on it seems like it's flexing my tablet (Kindle Fire 10) backwards. They are also wide enough that they can cover things at the corners of your screen. The swivel feature is really nice. The adjustable hand strap is nice. I think the shoulder strap is nice, but I just don't see myself using it to carry my tablet. All in an, it's a nice idea but it's hard to use. ... show more
