I have a pair of Goody basic Scissors that are several years old that perform as good as these and are more comfortable even in their old age. I wanted to replace my Goodys because the blades were not as sharp anymore but these new scissors are not any more sharper than my worn Goodys. Plus they feel too small for mens hands. Sticking to the classic Goody scissors with plastic handle from now on. They are cheap, comfortable, and sharp. These will just be a back up.

They did not come with oil on them to preserve them, so they could definitely use a little oil and love to get them up to par. They're decently sharp but I've used manicure scissors that were sharper 😕 You definitely have to cut thinner layers because it isn't sharp enough for a thicker bundle, when scissors aren't sharp enough they'll push the hair rather than slice through it, so I'd pay attention to what amount of hair the scissors can slice through and just keep it at that amount when using. I got the hair clips from here with a rubber band going down the clip to hold the hair up as I cut it. They work fantastic and helped me keep my layers even as it cut my hair. I cut my hair to right above the shoulders and only had 3 or 4 spots where I had issues with the scissors but it was enough to worry me (there's not alot of forgiveness when you cut it that short and not alot of hair left to cut to fix it and even it up!) But I ended up with a successful and decent hair cut.

I bought these to use when giving my 4 year old son haircuts. I have an electric clipper tool as well, but he doesn't like it when I use it around his ears, since it is a bit loud. I use the clippers all over and then trim the back of his neck and around his ears with the scissors. They are nice and sharp. The blades are also not too long, which I like. The ends are blunted so I don't have to worry about accidentally poking him while I am trying to maneuver them around (I am an amateur, and sometimes it takes me a while to get things situated so that I don't end up giving him a stairstep cut around his ears) The hole inserts to accommodate different finger sizes are a good idea, but honestly I probably won't use them because I only plan to use them out every few months. I do like the tightening key it comes with though. All in all these are what I needed for a good do it yourself kid's haircut.

Pleasantly surprised with the quality and just how sharp these are especially because of the price. I've cut my own hair for 6 or so years now to a couple different reasons. I wear my hair kind of a simple style of a longer bob with some pieces framing my face and fringe type bangs. I've watched MANY YouTube videos on tutorials of how to do. A stylist was charging me 30.00 and a 7.00 tip got to adding up every 8-10 weeks. I have recently purchased the clips with the leveler in the middle to make cutting my hair easier. The smaller one really helps cutting bangs that are even but not cut straight across like when you were 6 yrs. I can't use the plastic bands and if you wear anything larger than a size 6 ring you probably won't be able to either. The shears still work great and are easy to open close but they do come with a little tool to loosen or tighten to make the action easier. One word of caution, make sure you want to cut where you have these set because they are sharp and a good chunk will be missing with one clip.

Great scissors! Sharp, small, and good quality. Mine came without the adjuster, but the company sent out a replacement at no charge. Great customer service. They actually contacted me to see of I was satisfied with my purchase. Super-polite. I've been using the scissors to trim my bangs since August, and they are still tarnish-free and sharp. The other day I used them to cut about two inches off the bottom of my hair and they worked great for that, too. The different colored inserts are neither here nor there, but the one thing that stops this from being a 5-star review is that the scissors would not work when I tried to use them in my left (non-dominant) hand. I don't know why it wouldn't work, but it was like trying to cut vegetables with the dull side of a knife. I guess it was the angle? It's not a deal breaker, though. I would totally buy these again.
