  • Product received is real
EOtech recommends buying their products from an approved dealer to ensure authenticity. I decided to gamble on Amazon since it's pretty low risk and could return if fake. The EOtech arrived in a normal EOtech branded box. One of the latches on my box was broken. It arrived with the cr123a battery installed, with a sticker, instructions, warranty, and registration info. The serial number on the sticker on the bottom was confirmed by EOTech to match the model. There's always a chance that the sticker is faked and copied from a genuine one, so there are other ways to confirm. The reticle should be fuzzy, and you should not be able to see an LED shine onto the glass from the inside. The NV mode should make the reticle undetectable with your naked eye. It should not change to another color. Note the battery type. For this model should be cr123a, not button batteries or AA/AAA. Finally go on EOTechs website and compare sticker placements and markings to the one you have. Now that we know this is a genuine product, we can talk about the price itself. It's an EOTech. Plain and simple. The build is solid, the paint is well done, and the QD mount is exceptional. When you adjust the tightness, make it tight to where it's a little hard to close and open, but loose enough to be able to use your fingers and not a tool. One of the benefits with the QD mount is that your zero will hold when you don and doff the optic. But make sure it goes back on the same slots, and make sure you push the optic forward in the slot it's in before you close the WD latch. This is the first time I've used an EOTech with multiple center dots. I will say that I have a slight astigmatism, but when viewing the reticle the dots seem to blend together to make one long vertical dot. This may just be because of my eyes, but either way it's not bothersome to me. I like the option of having a second dot to hold at different distances when using a magnifier. All in all, it's an EOtech. Tried and true. This review is mostly to say that my optic is genuine, and you should double check yours when you receive it. ... show more

EoTech quality. Anodized aluminum looks a little too shiny and not quite FDE. I will Cerakote it later.

  • You can pay more, but you can't get better!
In a word, this optic is -- EPIC! I own various optics, including an Aimpoint ML3 and a Trijicon TA31F 4x32 ACOG, and the EXPS3 destroys them all -- period. Sure, you can pick apart its battery life, or its perceived "fragility," or its size, or the fact that it lacks flip-covers, etc, but once you use one, none of those things matter. Simply put, there is no weapon sight on the planet that gives you faster target acquisition or more natural two-eye targeting than EOTech. My CompML3 is great, and had I never used the EXPS3 I would be raving about that, but the EOTech has created a category all its own. There simply are no real competitors. I also have a Trijicon TA31F ACOG (Red Chevron) and while it makes a better SCOPE, it too can't come close to the EXPS3 for fast acquisition. If I'm shooting at the range beyond 50-meters, the TA31F is my preferred optic. If, however, I'm honing my Jason Bourne Wannabe (JBW) skills in CQB, I'll take the EOTech -- Every. Single. Time. Add in the G33 magnifier, and you can have the best of both worlds. I'm not military, and I'm no pro. I have no allegiance to any brand or product, but this middle-aged man either has or has used just about everything under the sun, and for my personal preference, this EOTech is just, plain, perfect. Git 1! ... show more

  • Not what it seems.
1. The Eotech you will receive does not have the L3 logo or military/ law enforcement engraving. Some may not care but for a cloner this is a no go. 2. Reticle is fuzzy not clean, clear, or crisp. 3. Battery came installed in unit already instead of in the designated spot for shipping. 4. Your better off going with Trijicon MRO. Cheaper, better eye relief, better field of view. I’ll be trading this for a MRO. ... show more

  • Great
I mean you pay for what you get. This is a great sight. I have the magnifier too super happy with it. I was getting tired of the cheap stuff.

  • Massive recall
EOTech looks great and it may work well at the range, but they got sued by the US Government for hiding for years performance issues on their scopes. For example it will shift zero at extreme temperatures. I can no longer trust EOTech with my life, so I am sending mine back. They are refunding everyone that wants to return their scopes the price of the scope plus $15 for shipping. ... show more
