Super cool ecosystem
Color: XMARI-BK-AMP Size: 39 INCH Set name: Amp Bundle Pack
I kind of went into this blind, but holy cow this is a really cool package, especially for a beginner. Starting with the guitar, it feels solid and there isn't any buzzing in any adjustments. I needed to make aside from just the tuning. The site comes with a tiny amp/speaker thing and a cable. You really have everything you need to get started right away. The guitar itself has four built-in effect modes that you can cycle through by pressing the chrome button, which is also a volume knob. that in itself is really cool, you could go straight into experimenting with different sounds and pedals and get rocking right away. But there's so much more you can do. This guitar can connect over Bluetooth to your phone and you can have even more control with the Enya app. in there you have so much control over the sound affects the effects chain all sorts of things thatthe sound affects the effects chain all sorts of things that when I was growing up, you could only do after investing a bunch of money. Not only that there's a bunch of tools in the app like tuning, tabs and actual lessons and you can get all of that without paying for anything more, which is super cool. I did find that certain tabs were a better quality and better put together than others. Some tabs just had a basic simulated guitar note playing while others had separate vocal tracks. But the guitar itself is solid. But the guitar itself is solid and sounds pretty decent on the little speaker. The speaker even has a headphone jack so he could play with effects relatively silently making this great for general practice. Honestly, I'm blown away with what you get in this whole package and didn't even know these smart type of guitars existed and honestly, I think it's never been easier to pick up learning how to play guitar thanks to this complete package. I would totally recommend this to anyone who is interested in learning how to play guitar specifically electric guitar and think it's so much paying for buck ... show more

A Lot of Guitar for the Money, and No, Not That Enya (probably)
Color: XMARI-BK-AMP Size: 39 INCH Set name: Amp Bundle Pack
Let me get the joke out of the way first. When I saw the name ENYA, part of my brain went straight to the singer. Soft piano, misty vocals, that one song everybody knows. I half expected the guitar to arrive wrapped in fog. It did not. This Enya makes instruments, not dreamy ballads, and the guitar is a good one. I love her music, but I love this even more. I have been playing for years, so I did not come to this as a wide-eyed beginner. I came to it curious. For the price, I figured it would be fine at best. It is a lot better than fine. The carbon fiber body is the first thing that got me. It has a nice weight to it. Not heavy, not toy-light either. It feels solid and smooth in your hands, like it was built to actually be played rather than just sold cheap. Run your palm across it and there is no rough seam or plastic-y creak. It just feels right. The shape won me over too. Look at the upper right part of the body, the bit near where your forearm rests. It curves back and opens up a little extra room for your arm. Small detail, big comfort. After a long stretch of playing, your forearm is not fighting a hard edge. Somebody who plays guitar clearly had a say in that design. Then there are the pickups. Five of them. Five. I have electric guitars that cost a good deal more than this and none of them carry five pickups. I keep looking at them and doing the math in my head. That is a lot of tonal options packed onto a 39-inch beginner kit. The accessories pile is generous. It comes loaded, right down to a second set of strings, which is the kind of thing you do not appreciate until the day you snap one. There is a gig bag, a headphone output for quiet practice, USB-C recording, and built-in effects. I have not downloaded the app yet. I am not really an app-and-menus kind of player, I like to plug in and go. But I will check it out eventually, because I am curious what the app control adds. Now for the weak link. The included strap. Oh, the strap. I have seen tie-down straps in the bed of my truck that felt nicer than this one. It is easily the cheapest part of the whole kit. But honestly, who cares. I have a drawer full of decent straps, so this one goes straight into the junk pile and nobody misses it. If that is the biggest complaint, the kit is doing fine. It also comes with a little speaker monitor, a mini amp. I own more professional versions of these, so I do not need it as my main rig. But it is great to have a backup I can toss in a bag for a trip and not lose sleep over if it gets banged around or left behind. That kind of grab-and-go peace of mind is worth something. And here is the part that matters most. It sounds pretty good. I am not the best player alive and I will not pretend I have golden ears, but plugged in, this thing holds its own. The tone is clean, the effects are a fun bonus, and it does not sound like a bargain-bin guitar. Solid buy. Comfortable, well made, packed with extras, and easy on the wallet. Just do yourself a favor and use your own strap. Leave that truck rope in the box. ... show more

A Lot of Guitar for a Beginner Kit
Color: XMARI-BK-AMP Size: 39 INCH Set name: Amp Bundle Pack
A Lot of Guitar for a Beginner Kit This is a pretty impressive beginner guitar. It feels solid, the neck is decent, and overall it feels better than I expected for the price. The fret bars are a little square compared with nicer guitars I've played, and the switches and knobs feel cheaper than the rest of the instrument. The pickups are decent for a beginner guitar, although on mine the D string doesn't come through as strongly as the other strings. Having distortion and other effects built into the guitar is a cool addition, especially for someone just getting started. The little included amp performs about like I expect from a small practice amp. The kit also includes the cable, strap, whammy bar and other basics, so there's very little needed before playing. My reference point for beginner guitars is the Fender Squier, which feels a little more refined to me, but a comparable kit also costs around $100 more. At $254.99 (price at time of order), I think this sits about where it should for what you get. I haven't seriously shopped the beginner-guitar market in about 20 years, so I can't say how it compares with every current option in this price range. The last electric I played before this is a $2,300 guitar so I may be judging harshly. Bottom line... you can learn on this and the effects will make it fun. ... show more

Smart Carbon Fiber Travel Guitar
Color: XMARI-BK-AMP Size: 39 INCH Set name: Amp Bundle Pack
I picked up this smart electric guitar for quiet evening practice and travel, and the carbon fiber construction immediately stands out for its stability and lightweight feel. Unlike traditional solid wood bodies that shift, expand, and throw off tuning whenever the weather turns humid or dry, this composite build remains rock-solid and resistant to temperature swings. The European maple neck feels smooth in the hand, and the rounded fret ends along the fingerboard ensure there are no sharp edges catching your fingers during fast chord changes. The all-in-one onboard electronics eliminate the need to lug around heavy external amplifiers, pedalboards, or messy cable setups. With built-in digital signal processing and customizable presets, you can plug a pair of headphones directly into the instrument and enjoy full, rich distortion or crystal-clear tones without disturbing anyone else in the house. Streaming backing tracks straight from your phone over Bluetooth while you play along makes practice sessions engaging, and the direct USB-C recording port makes capturing song ideas straight to a computer effortless. The ceramic pickup configuration provides plenty of sonic variety, moving easily from bright, articulate chime to punchy lead tones. It comes packed with a complete starter kit, including a compact auxiliary amplifier, a sturdy gig bag, cables, and setup tools. The balanced weight sits comfortably on your shoulder whether playing seated on the porch or standing with a strap during longer jam sessions. Overall impression: an innovative, road-ready carbon fiber electric guitar with versatile onboard effects, silent headphone practice capabilities, and stable fretwork that makes playing anywhere remarkably easy. ... show more

Excellent quality for the price—low string action for easy fast playing and sounds great
Color: XMARI-BK-AMP Size: 39 INCH Set name: Amp Bundle Pack
Between my spouse and I, we own a wide variety of instruments and especially guitars, but this is my first carbon fiber. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent build quality, especially for its price point. The low action of the strings to the fretboard really makes it easy to play, with very little pressure needed which allows me to play fast and effortlessly. It also has an excellent tone out of all three pickups with nice sustain. I didn't feel any rough spots, anything loose, frets sticking out, inconsistent finish, or any of those telltale craftsmanship issues that you see in budget guitars. The thing is quite solid and professionally built. The carbon fiber construction on the body really does lighten it which makes it easier to handle and shifts the balance of the guitar more towards the neck. One of the quality of life improvements this guitar makes to a standard strat design is being able to use the included lever to adjust the strut on the neck as well as to adjust the tremolo rather than having to use an allen wrench or other specialized tool. While you can use it like a standard guitar, ones of its main selling points is the built-in preamp and neural modeling. It’s really neat being able to cycle between onboard models with a short press right on the guitar, which ranged from clean to metal-style distortion. Syncing via Bluetooth opens a wider variety of options, letting you tweak the EQ, pedals, etc. which I found quite fun. I really enjoyed some of the included settings, such as a very Nirvana-like one and another that’s very classic Western. It’s not as deep as a dedicated software AI model or pedal, but it’s a great feature for someone starting out that doesn’t have all the extras that enthusiasts tend to build up over time. The included rechargeable battery powered mini amp sounded higher quality and louder than I expected. And I think it's a great starting point for someone learning to play electric guitar before taking the plunge investing in a full size amp. My single critique: the 1/4" cable it came with was constantly popping out of the jack, so I wound up throwing it away and using my own, which thankfully fixed the issue. Overall, I am quite pleased with this guitar and it exceeded my expectations for this price point. I think it's an excellent first electric guitar or even suitable for an experienced guitar player who wants to try out a lighter carbon fiber body guitar without needing to invest a ton of money into it. ... show more

Innovative Carbon Fiber Platform With Significant Setup Hurdles And Questionable QC Choices
Color: XMARI-BK-AMP Size: 39 INCH Set name: Amp Bundle Pack
I have been playing guitar for over 20 years, and for the past four years, I have heavily specialized in guitar repairs, custom builds, setups, and advanced technical work. When I saw the Enya Xmari smart electric guitar, I thought the concept was awesome on paper. You get a carbon fiber composite body, built-in digital effects, USB-C recording, and an internal DSP system that lets you plug right out into a PA system at a venue, an open mic, or any gig situation without dragging an amp around. However, from a serious professional standpoint, the execution falls short in several areas, and it is definitely not a playable instrument right out of the box for a beginner. The most glaring initial issue is the setup and playability straight out of the box. Measuring from the 17th fret, my bass side action was sitting at a remarkably high 7/64 of an inch and the treble side at 6/64. The saddles were left cranked high while the neck angle sloped downward toward the bridge, meaning the factory did not bother to balance the geometry at all. They failed to lower the saddles to compensate for the neck angle, and they failed to shim the neck to match the high saddles, leaving the fretboard extension dipped down and the headstock tilted up. It does feature a modern style neck plate similar to a Fender Ultra with an offset third hole for higher fret access, plus a built-in tilt adjust right there in the plate to help set the neck angle. Yet, judging by how mine arrived, it appears they did not bother doing any of that at the factory, meaning it must be addressed right out of the box. If a player has to take this to a shop to get the setup fixed and the scratchy, unpolished frets leveled out, that extra $60 to $120 completely eats into the savings of what this guitar is supposed to be. Furthermore, while the manufacturer claims a carbon fiber fretboard, it actually appears to be a phenolic resin or Richlite material, and the fretwork itself is completely unpolished, leaving the frets extremely scratchy, akin to what you would expect on a hundred-dollar budget instrument rather than a guitar in this price bracket. Weight and balance are another disappointment. While a large majority of my wooden electric guitars sit comfortably around seven to eight pounds as a normal baseline, this carbon fiber example tips the scales right at about seven pounds, meaning you are not really gaining any noticeable weight benefit over standard timber. It also suffers from slight neck dive that makes it feel even bulkier. The chunky C-shaped neck profile is fine depending on preferences, but combined with the sterile, lifeless stock pickups and a bottom-of-the-barrel two-point tremolo system, almost everything outside of the core composite body needs upgrading. There are a few other design details to keep in mind if you look at this as a project platform. The neck and pocket dimensions seem correct for a standard Strat or Tele replacement neck if you ever wanted to swap it out, but if you plan on changing the pickguard, the screw holes are baked right into the carbon fiber body, so shifting things around will not be easy. On the bright side, the built-in digital effects and direct out options are a genuinely neat feature. The onboard DSP comes with four factory presets—Clean, Overdrive, Distortion, and Lead High-Gain—and you can pair the guitar via Bluetooth to the Enya app to deeply customize those slots, meaning you can configure all four slots to be clean settings or whatever custom mix you prefer. The direct output and USB-C options are great for silent practice or routing straight to a board, though the bundled mini-amp sounds tinny, boxy, and weak like a toy. Ultimately, this guitar is not ready for a beginner or a casual player out of the box. However, if you view it purely as a moddable platform and appreciate the unique utility of the app-customizable DSP and carbon fiber body, it can be turned into a cool project guitar provided you have the bench skills to completely overhaul the setup, shim the neck, polish the frets, and swap out the hardware. ... show more

Full Package Beginner Level Guitar
Color: XMARI-BK-AMP Size: 39 INCH Set name: Amp Bundle Pack
I picked up this ENYA XMARI electric guitar for a kid who is a beginner that would like to take up the guitar. The 39-inch size is the perfect size for him to handle and learn on. The carbon fiber body looks modern and feels nicely constructed that will last while it's being transported to lessons (carrying case included). The guitar has 3.5mm output jack for headphones, 6.35mm output for amp and USB-C for recording. This guitar also comes with a strap, amp, pick, and cables for connectivity. The sound quality over the amp isn't perfect but it doesn't sound bad. The guitar sounds really good when using headphones and it sounds true. There is a downloadable app for the guitar for multiple platforms. Connectivity to the app is easy and it allows you to customize the settings. The guitar is easy to tune and the presets are nice. The dials are responsive and easy to adjust. Overall, it’s a versatile and fun guitar for learning and practicing. I would say this guitar is mainly focused on beginner to intermediate experience and play style. ... show more

For starters, it's a no-brainer....
Color: XMARI-BK-AMP Size: 39 INCH Set name: Amp Bundle Pack
I have always wanted to learn to play the guitar. Life seems to have gotten in the way for most of it and despite working with musicians quite often in my Video Production business, I never found time to learn, practice and dabble in it; until now. The ENYA XMARI is my entry point into learning how to play an electric guitar so my review is based on beginner impressions with a bit of knowledge about instruments and audio gear. The first thing you notice about this is that it is a modern and cool looking instrument, it comes with everything you need, even a small amp that allows you to plug in right out of the box. Included as well are extra strings, picks, instructions and a guitar strap with the cable for the mini-amp. Everything you need to get going on day one. Now, I mentioned that I work with musicians, some having won an award or two so I am not a noob when it comes to what guitars should sound like and while this is not a $30k guitar, nor does it pretend to be, it has an actionable sound right out of the box. One of the first things you will have to do is tune the guitar, this can done with many phone apps out there or you can buy one, these cost near nothing. Mine was pretty close to tuned so only had to make some minor adjustments before I could start playing. The guitar is comfortable to hold, a bit heavier than some I have held, but on par with most. There are no surprises here, you will learn on a guitar that is very much like the rest so you won't have trouble adapting when it's time to adjust to another guitar. Everything you need is here and all you need is some lessons and practice, practice, practice. I have some more time on my hands as of late and will be taking this on as a hobby. So far the playability has been great on the guitar side, not so sure on my short fingered chords though. The quality, aesthetics, sound and performance of the different parts is what you can expect for a start up guitar. One of my clients who is a seasoned pro also gave it thumbs up when he gave it a run. Not bad at all. Get one. ... show more
