I am an olive oil consumer, and I am willing to pay top price for top quality. This is not it. Taste is bitter. This was my original review but then the business wrote back to me in the kindest of terms but at no point influenced me to change my review. However because of their outreach I did the following: I compared the following: Kirkland (100% Italian Extra Virgin) olive oil, Tenuta Maryamado, Entimio Cortese, Entimio Intenso, Kirkland California Ranch olive oil, O-Live & Co Robust extra virgin olive oil. The process brought me some surprises. The short version is that I was searching for "robust" Italian Olive Oils and using my "memory" of the "finest tasting" Sicilian olive oil that I had ever had. Note, I said memory so that was perhaps my first mistake but in my memory it had a medium initial flavor and an intense peppery finish, and I have been "searching" for similar oil as I cannot recall the brand of the oil or the store in Paso Robles California where I purchased it. Short version after my research is that I like both of the Entimio oils over the others and I prefer the Intenso over Cortese despite my earlier point of view. Also despite the higher price point the Tenuta Maryamado oil shipped last years harvest not current year as the Entimio oils did. To anyone reading me original review please forgive me as I was wrong. I will buy the Entimio oils again and will send them as gifts.

This is probably one of THE BEST olive oils my family has had. We were a little worried about liking it, considering the price, but man, were we over the moon when we tried it. We ended up getting this on subscription. To the point of the subscription... this olive oil specifies the bottling year. When that year is out or no longer good, then your subscription will end automatically, and you'll have to re-subscribe for the next year's product, should you wish to have this sent on an automatic subscription. For the olive oil itself... it's full-bodied, yet light. It has a salty quality that makes it excellent for dipping your fresh breads. We've also paired with some quality balsamic and dried oregano from our garden, and it can't be beat. Every time I have a bite of something with it on it, I do a happy dance - I think it is that good. We use olive oil in almost everything, so we reserve this oil for when the olive oil is the star of the show.

It's also a great way to experience the differences between these three. Fantastic flavor in each! They can add so much to a dish.
