I was going to cut the existing cable clamps and replace them. Buying these was cheaper and no work. Also, are longer than my original set, and will be much easier to connect when needed. The plastic case is a nice extra. BTW, I thought the reviews on replacement clamps were accurate in describing issues. Some are sold in pack of two, even though you likely need four. I donated the old set to Goodwill...

These booster cables came in a nice plastic storage case. The cables themselves appear to be quality made, battery clamps are coated and long enough to connect two vehicles at a fair distance. The cables were reasonably priced too. I purchased the cables after having an issue with my small battery booster device. Consequently, I borrowed my neighbor’s cables and now have my own. Great product.

A lot of the jumper cables now days are made cheap. These are surprisingly made very well and the remind me of the heavy duty cables that you used to be able to get a long time ago. I’m very happy.

Procrastinator that I am, for several years I had only one set of battery jump cables, and kept them in the trunk of car A. Well, the battery went dead in that car (everything drains the battery nowadays in newer cars) and because the trunk only opens when you push certain buttons (battery again!) I could not get the cables out of the trunk in order to jump to the good battery in car B! Found these heavy duty (12 gauge) cables on Amazon, good ratings from previous customers, and had them delivered next day. Now, one set in the trunk of each car. Hope I never have to use them again, but good insurance. I would never buy anything smaller than 12 gauge regardless of what commenters have said on Amazon. (12 gauge is heavier than 16 gauge, etc.)

I always try to keep some jumper cables in the car because I am old school, and these were priced reasonably, and fit in the carry bag fairly well (although, I would get a better bag that is a little bigger and more durable because rolling up jumper cables after you use them and putting them in a bag, is like trying to put an unsedated cat in a carrying case.) I have some expensive 100% copper cables that are very beefy with the exterior insulation and they are pretty tricky to wrestle around and store, but these were perfect for my teenaged daughter’s for her to conveniently forget about in her trunk until she actually needs them and I get a frantic call. They are light enough for her to wrestle around and long enough to get to another car to do the job so she can get back on the road and not be stranded.
