What a great idea for dogs who love to swim, but get easily tired. I went by the specs on ordering for my 4 year old 70lb dog. It barely fit. I could not attach the velcro that wraps around her tummy, but the clips fit around. With all the, she hated wearing it. She would not get in the water with it on. Lucky for me, it fit my 40lb husky perfectly. She does not mind having it on and I feel alot better about her being in the lake for hours with it on. Still a good purchase. The media could not be loaded. This vest has two handles & horizontal handle is especial very helpful to guide your dog slowly into the water without getting me scared. My dog has never been in big water before & she refused to get in the first time I took her swimming. Using the handles, I slowly guide her into the pool & let her swim back out on her own. The vest is light & appears to be made from sturdy & durable material. It kept my dog afloat the whole time. Make sure to measure your dog before buying. I got this for my girl, probably a black mouth cur, who's 72 pounds, with a chest girth of about 32 inches. I got her the XL, and it fits her perfectly! She got great use of it during a recent weekend get-away. It's easy to put on, she didn't seem to mind wearing it, and it didn't hinder her swimming. It seems durable and dries quickly as well! My only complaint is that the chest straps are a bit longer than they need to be, but that's mostly appearance. I'd absolutely buy this life jacket again. ... show more

Our boy is a rescue & had never experienced the things that most get to... We knew for sure he doesn't like being IN the ocean or baths but we got him in the boat for the 1st time AND he even swam in the lake with his vest on without freaking out! The Good: Fits Perfect! It's an XL & he weighs 55-60 lbs (Pitbull) The Color! Matches Daddy's kayak & it's camo (daddy is a Veteran) Easy to use (I think he felt safe in it also because of how it hugs him; HIGH Anxiety) Ya'll, it has a handle to help hold him up or when helping him in & out of the boat! The Bad: The front also acts as as a float, but I wish it had more floaty material across his chest because of the fact that he's a beginner (at age 5) I don't think it keeps his head up high enough out of the water... if that makes sense... The vest is perfect, however the loop to attach a leash on top of vest is plastic and not sown on very strongly. I have a 60 pound Australian Cattle dog who loves to swim and with the lead rope attached to the loop on top of vest, it ripped right off guiding my dog back to shore. It has suited us well. We've had it for the whole summer, and Spike has worn it for every swimming event. It still fits him nicely and feels secure.
