I bought this to fly with our toddler and realized you probably need to be older than three to really enjoy flying a kite. But the kite itself is well built, easy to assemble, and once you work your way through the instructions (written in broken English) or just mess around with it for 10 minutes, it's ready to go. It's a delta kite with a fiberglass frame that flies reasonably well in a moderate breeze. Just keep in mind that it really helps to have two people to launch it....one to hold the kite and to fly it. I flew it in about 12mph of wind and it did ok, but it definitely wasn't staying in the air without running with it quite a bit and it had a tendency to flip upside down. This could have been turbulence from nearby homes, but there seemed like there should have been enough wind to not work quite so hard to keep it in the air. As I don't have experience with other delta kites I had nothing to compare it to, but I it trainer two line kite for kiteboarding and that feels a lot less jittery and spastic. If you're goal is to just have fun with a basic kite that has everything included (kite line, carry bag, and the kite), I don't think you'll be disappointed. If you're more serious than that, maybe it's worth ordering from a store that specializes in this sort of thing and getting their recommendation. I took off a star for the really bad instructions and that it felt a bit jittery in the air given the relatively light wind in which it was flying. ... show more

Its been a hot minute since I last flew a kite and this was a great introduction back to the game! It was extremely easy to put together. You have essentially 2 rods (each rod is split into 2 pieces that you put together) that goes into the kit to make it taut. The rods themselves are slightly bendable so you can easily inset them. It may feel like they're going to break, but they're not! Trust in the process. Once put together, the kite flies quite nicely, easy to launch and once a bit of wind comes about, the kite catches it nicely and can fly relatively high. It also has streamers (is that what its called?) on the side including a long tail that makes the kite look and feel much larger than it is. The art of the kite itself is pretty cute. The dragon is very friendly and approachable. The kite also folds away nicely and it does come in its own pouch/carrying case. For something under 20 bucks, I can see this bringing about many years of high flying fun. Its a great gift or a great introduction for any kite enthusiast. ... show more

... which is good, because one of the connectors had a habit of getting undone, requiring some rework. The kite flies nicely, and the string was stronger than I thought it would be in fairly stiff winds. Our toddler loves mermaids, and she loved the look of this kite up in the sky, with the long tail trailing below. But she also likes the look of it hanging up in her room! As noted at the beginning, we did have an issue with one of the connectors in the sleeve popping loose and had to fiddle with it a bit, but overall this is a pretty nice kite. ... show more

We wanted a kite for our 4-year-old and this one fit the bill. It’s nice and big, colorful and flies pretty well. Due to the larger frame it’s easy to see way up in the sky and also doesn’t take a ton of wind to launch. We’re consistently able to put it up on mildly breezy days, but it can also survive gusts just fine too. And since it’s a delta-style kite, it’s very forgiving. The flying is smooth and it’s an easy learn for a first-time kite Flyer. My only issue is that it really does take two people to launch, simply due to the size of the frame. It’s too big for one person to launch easily, especially if they person is a kid. Otherwise it’s fantastic and I hope we get a lot more life out of it. ... show more

Kites are supposed to fly but some kites cannot or they break quickly. This one flies really well and it is very durable. It does not matter whether you have experience in flying kites or not, you will be able to fly this kite with some try. Any 5-6 year old kid can fly this kite.
