I was upset to realize that I didn't do enough research when I bought my new Sony TV and it didn't have an optical out to my Sonos sound bar but instead used a 3.5mm Mini OPTICAL output. None of this would have been a problem if Samsung didn't sell a lemon of a TV (Sorry, had to throw a dig!!) Found this cable to bridge the gap, and while the audio quality is now not as good, it still allows the 2 products to function properly and sound good. Happy so far. I almost dropped an extra $20 or so on a more well-known brand, but after reading the reviews for this cable I decided to give it a shot. Had I spent $20 more, or $300 on a high-end cable, would it sound better? I have no idea because I bought this one! However, what I can say is that for my need, which is connecting my TV to a Bluesound Node so I can hear the audio from the Tidal videos I watch through my vintage 2-channel system, it sounds great. Gave it 5 stars for durability, but I've actually only had it for a day at the time of this review, so who knows? But it looks and feels sturdy and well made. I'd assume that I won't have any issues unless I do weird stuff with it like plug and unplug it a bunch or use it as a whip. While it's not out of the realm of possibility, I currently have no plans to do either of those things. If you're looking for a Toslink to 3.5mm cable to use in a similar fashion to what I'm doing with it, then I highly recommend it. ... show more

Works great and even looks good. It paired nicely with my Sound BlasterX G6 and a USB C to SPDIF Transmitter to hook up to my Android phone to play music to my stereo. I haven't had issues with dropped connections and the 3.5mm mini plus wasn't too long for a good fit.
