This is the 3rd Sensi/Emerson ST55 thermostat I have installed. The first two were easy-peasy. This one -- billed as "Renewed" by Amazon -- took several hours. It would not sync to my modem/router. After trying many times, I contacted my Internet Service Provider (ISP) and had them remotely re-set my router, thinking that could be the problem. No success. Finally, I took the face plate off the thermostat to check the wiring and discovered that the 8 digit Security Code on the back of the face plate was DIFFERENT than the one provided on the "Welcome" pamphlet included with the set-up instructions! When I tried the new code, the handshake went perfectly! Somehow the instructions from another unit got put in the box with mine. About 4 hours of wasted time for me. I suspect the problem was not with the manufacturer, but with the vendor selling through Amazon. Shame, shame, shame! ... show more
