I like the smell of this, but I'm really baffled by reviews saying this is mattifying. It's very hydrating and almost leaves a sticky feeling on my face, but never felt matte.

Beautiful moisturiser. But my first tube arrived completely liquid. The company replaced it quickly. It could have melted because being in the Amazon truck for hours in the extreme California heat. I’ll be buying again & stocking up before next summer

this mattifying moisturizer from Embryolisse is a godsend for this sweaty ranch hand with an oil slick mug shinier than fair pig after the wing eating contest! As a cowpoke constantly glistening under the baking prairie sun, keeping that hydrated frontier glow without looking drenched is tougher than breaking a wild stallion. But lasso my lizards, one smooth glide of this cream and my face looks dewier than fresh cornbread with not a drop of grease or garish shine in sight! That miracle silica and plant complex works like an AC unit for sweat, controlling pore leakage and soaking up beaded sweat better than Paw’s two napkins at the crawfish boil.
