We originally ordered linen curtains for that easy, breezy beach look but they didn't block the sun from shining right on us when we eat at our lanai dining room table. This curtain is perfect! I included a picture of the sun hitting the curtain directly so you can see that it still provides nice light and sheerness but perfect to keep the sun directly out of your eyes. I looked at several curtains before purchasing and these are perfect. I needed them for privacy on our back porch so I did not want a blackout curtain or a sheer. These have a nice weave and sturdy feel without being stiff, and they allow light to pass thru while still providing privacy. There is a nice hem at the bottom, which adds to their quality, and the tabs are sturdy. I chose tabs over grommets because we live in Florida near the coast and I was concerned about the grommets eventually rusting. They hang very well and the Velcro tabs allowed me to easily add another panel without having to take the whole thing down. I washed and dried them before hanging, trying to get the packaging wrinkles out but still needed to iron them to get rid of the fold lines. They washed up well and probably will not need to be ironed when washed again. I bought white, which is perfect for our gray house and white trim. I highly recommend these for outdoor use, but I would also use them indoors. ... show more

These curtains worked perfectly on my patio. I hung them from my pergula using a metal bar I installed across the top and then put plastic covered wire cord through the bottom hem and attached the bottom cord to eye hooks at each end which allows me to open or close the curtains easily, but also allowing the wind not to blow them upward. The velcro tabs at the top of the curtains are a wonderful plus and make it easy to put curtains on and off the pole (I take them down for winter) and are a strong hold. I often gather the curtains in the middle and tie them for when rain and wind are coming, then undo them and open them to dry. They dry quickly. Washing is easy as well. I purchased the Ivory on my computer and phone it appeared to be a tad off white with a tad bit of sheer quality to it. When it arrived it was more of a darker ivory/definitive cream color (I'm starting to wonder if they sent me the Taupe in error) My package had certainly been a prior return as it was not folded in the packaging correctly and the packaging was opened, BUT, when I went online to return ALL colors were out of stock and no availability until Mid-July 2020, so I'm keeping it for now, as we are desperate for some shade on our patio. Thick fabric, but still light weight. I do like the Velcro tabs, easy to take down/put up, we had hurricane force winds here recently and not a single Velcro tab came apart, so that was GREAT! I ended up returning these because they were not right for what I needed but they are quality beautiful curtains! I’m not sure what they mean by sheer but they are not see through.

Replaced these after a couple of years because they faded in the California sun. The replacements were far less private for our deck. Not pleased. Check out the photo. The original curtains did not let you see through to the neighbors’ yellow house.
