I was actually expecting this Elmonte bar cart to be one of those wobbly, lightweight trolleys that rattles when you move it, but it turned out to be an incredibly solid piece of furniture. After the first few days of using it to organize our wine collection and glassware, the reality was that the industrial metal frame is much more robust than I thought it would be. I thought the 12-bottle rack might feel crowded, but it actually provides a very organized, accessible layout that has made it so it hasn't been a hassle for me to grab a bottle during a dinner party in the afternoon. In a house with five kids and four pets, our dining area can quickly become a ""messy"" catch-all for clutter, so having a dedicated 3-tier mobile station is a total lifesaver for me. The texture of the wood shelves has a high-quality, rustic feel and the weight of the cart keeps it from tipping even when it's fully loaded with heavy bottles and accessories. When you lock the wheels into place, there is a very solid, secure hold, and the built-in glass holders have made it so it hasn't been a hassle for me to keep my stemware safe and dust-free while we are hosting friends on the weekend. Beside the impressive storage capacity, the only small annoyance I ran into was that the over-engineered box was packed so tightly that I had to use a mallet to gently tap the metal supports out of the protective foam inserts. Prepositions aside, on the assembly itself, the instructions were very clear, though I did find that the small hex wrench included was a little bit difficult to grip toward the end of the build. It answers the question of whether a rolling cart can actually handle a heavy load without bowing, and it hasn't been a hassle for my spouse to move it from the kitchen to the patio now that the large casters roll so smoothly over our tile floors." ... show more

    • A must-have for home entertaining
Before this arrived, I assumed that an "industrial" cart would look a bit too cold or utilitarian for our living room decor. After using it for a few days to display our decanters and bar tools, I realized that the wood and metal blend is actually very warm and the build quality is a huge win for me. It actually provided much better organization for our "messy" liquor cabinet than I ever expected, and it is a relief that I'm gona be able to keep everything in one mobile spot for the rest of the year. Having a busy household means I appreciate furniture that can serve multiple purposes. The surface of the Elmonte cart has a professional, durable finish and there was absolutely no weird chemical scent or oily residue when I first unboxed the parts. There is a satisfying weight to the 31.5-inch shelves that makes it feel like a piece of permanent furniture rather than a temporary serving tray, which is exactly what my spouse was looking for to help us upgrade our hosting game for the holidays. Under the middle shelf, the wine rack is perfectly spaced for standard bottles, although the only real annoyance was that the hardware bag was taped so securely to the underside of the box that I almost missed it when I was prying the cardboard apart. Since the height is perfect for preparing drinks, I don't have to keep going back to the kitchen counter anymore, though I did find that the packaging was a bit of a pain to break down for recycling because of the extra-thick shipping corners. The packaging of the Elmonte bar cart was very meticulous; there were no scratches on the parts. Assembly took about 30-40 minutes; the instructions are quite clear. The texture of the wooden parts is realistic, and it doesn't wobble once placed on the metal frame; it has a very balanced structure. Visually, it fully met my expectations. Unfortunately, I encountered a serious problem during actual use. The rotation and flow of the wheels are very faulty; they get stuck even on smooth floors. Since it doesn't move fluidly, it doesn't fully fulfill its "mobile" feature. It’s great if you’re going to use it as a static decor piece, but if you plan on moving it frequently, the wheel structure might disappoint you. ... show more

    • Very solid and stylish cart with a few minor annoyances
I’ve owned a few rolling carts before and most of them felt temporary/disposable. This one feels like actual furniture. Once assembled, it has real weight to it and doesn’t flex when you load it up with bottles and glassware. The metal frame feels thick, and the shelves don’t sag under pressure. The layout makes sense. The wine rack keeps bottles organized instead of stacked awkwardly on a flat shelf, and the upper tiers are roomy enough for decanters, mixers, or bar tools. It looks clean and fits in well without screaming “bar cart.” It actually looks much nicer in person than in the photos. Assembly was pretty straightforward. The instructions were easy to follow and all the hardware was included. The only frustrating part was how tightly everything was packed. It took more effort than it should have to free some of the pieces from the protective inserts. The wheels are serviceable but not great. They roll fine on smooth floors, but they’re not buttery smooth. The locking mechanism works, though, and once locked the cart stays put. Overall, it feels sturdy and substantial. It handles weight well and doesn’t feel like it’s going to tip over easily. A few small annoyances, but the build quality is better than most carts I’ve seen in this price range. ... show more
