    • Almost lasts TOO long
So I initially bought this because my 3 yr old started biting his nails. Bad habit he picked up from watching me, but I'm a lost cause. I applied it onto him and myself as soon as I arrived. Once it dried I decided to try licking it myself, and MAN was it bad!! The taste also lingers on your tongue for a while, but that seemed to help me keep my fingers out of my mouth. Oh and my kid too. After a few hours and even after washing my hands I could still taste the bitterness on my hands, so it lasts quite a while. It did help my son bite his nails less frequently, and I'm sure if it is used more consistently it'll get him to stop altogether but at this point it is no longer a concern. I'll update review if I ever get the willpower to use it myself to quit. ... show more

hard to rate flavor. i mean it's supposed to taste terrible, and it does. so...5 stars for horribleness? be careful when you apply, if it's anyhwere it's on there. and this stuff is BAD. i mean it's supposed to be, and it worked on our little nail-biter super quick. but every time i applied it on her nails, i ended up with some on me for a few days. it looks a bit shiny, so not quite a clearcoat but you know it's there. ... show more

I can't believe it, but this worked! Thumb sucking was affecting my almost 6 yr old's teeth, so we needed a fix. The first couple times we tried, the taste only lasted a couple days and she'd go right back to it. We gave it a break then tried again a month or so later, and it's been weeks now with no thumb sucking! Had couple nights of her crying and trying to rub it off, but she's on board now and proud of herself. I have reapplied a couple times in her sleep to keep the bad flavor going, but I think we're finally done! ... show more

My lord... I painted my daughter's fingers and just by eating a snack a few hours later, I could still taste the nail polish on myself! It is not a sour/bitter taste, but tastes like chemicals. Very unpleasant. She does still bite because as soon as it gets wet the flavor is gone, but it is a good deterrent for me! ... show more

I put it on my thumb nail as a practice with my daughter. Throughout the entire day, I was tasting the bitterness in my mouth. Even though I don't bit my nails, I do eat a sandwich and accidentally touch my nails to my lips. The taste is SO BITTER and transfers too easily. I found that I was bothered by the taste on my one nail more than necessary. I want it to be a reinforcement for my daughter to not bite her nails but instead I feel like she must have spent her entire day with that sour taste in her mouth, even when she wasnt biting. ... show more

Bought this to stop my nail biting. It took 2 weeks for it to actually completely stop me but it worked! Im no longer biting my nails and my nails are actually very long now. When you try to remove the polish its basically imbedded into your nail at that point. The taste will last for a solid 3 weeks on your nails even if you try to remove it with strong chemicals. Im letting my aunt try it to stop my little cousin from sucking her thumb. The down side to this polish is that any hand held food you touch will have the flavor on it. Dont touch your face or anywhere around your mouth. You'll taste it. ... show more

I don’t normally write reviews but this stuff is amazing! My toddler picked up thumb sucking after seeing her baby sister do it and it’s been a hard habit to break. Our two daughters have constantly sucked on there fingers for awhile now, put it on there fingers before nap time and as soon as they put those fingers in there mouths they instantly said eww and had the nastiest looks on there faces, have put it on them twice now and it had kept them from wanting to put there fingers in their mouths for a few days, hopefully they'll be broke of sucking on them in a couple weeks ... show more
