I flew from South Dakota all the way down to Alabama with an 8 1/2 week old 15lb golden retriever puppy, on American Airlines with this carrier. I was super impressed! There was plenty of room for her to move around, she was comfortable in there and we had a layover in Dallas also- she was content to stay in carrier until we found a pet relief area. I’d highly recommend this carrier to anyone flying with your pet in cabin. No one around me even knew she was with me, it looked like a regular carry on with lots of ventilation, and multiple ways to get in there and check on her. UPDATE: I have used this carrier multiple times additionally now since my first flight flying a puppy. These carriers have been used for golden retriever puppies heading to Washington, Colorado, Texas, New York & Rhode Island. This is a nice carrier but I am disappointed with the seller's substitution. I order two colors (light blue and purple) at the same time and two different style bags in two separate shipments came in. I don't know which is the "newer" style but my light blue bag seems to have nicer on the features. I don't think my kitties will notice but I did not receive the purple bag as shown. The logo on the purple bag is white screen print rather than the nice black tag, the pockets have been changed to all mesh rather than canvas, and there are fewer pockets, and the shoulder strap has changed to a lighter weight material. Again, I don't think my cats will notice but side-by-side, these are clearly two different bags. ... show more

Perfect size for my 16-lb. long-legged chihuahua/fox terrier. It was roomy enough for her to stand and turn around when waiting in the terminal, but flattened down to fit under the airplane seat. The airlines didn't question her comfort level like with her Sherpa bag.

I read reviews of many soft side carriers and purchased one that had great reviews on Amazon. Unfortunately, that one didn't meet expectations and broke within a day - so I had to find another. I stumbled across the EliteField. This carrier only had a few reviews so I was hesitant to buy it. I'm glad I took the chance! Pros: - Spacious - my kitten is only 9 weeks but there's plenty of room to grow! - Mesh is coated and thick unlike other carriers that can rip/tear easily - Has a carrying handle and a shoulder strap - Lots of external pockets - Opens on both ends and has a zipper on top/side to reach in and pat/calm pet easily Cons: - Firm floor board - my cat doesn't seem to mind this though. Fleece lining could be a bit thicker. I'll put a little towel or blanket in for her - Not sure how waterproof this would be if the pet had an accident - Label on side - I'd prefer not to have EliteField on the side of the carrier Overall, GREAT carrier. I think I'll get my money's worth out of this one. My kitten loves going in it to just relax. ... show more

I received the EliteField Soft Sided Pet Carrier today, and I must say that it is the very best quality and value that I have ever seen in a pet carrier. It zips all the way around on one end to exit the pet. At the other end, it zips halfway down for the pet to be carried with his head out to enjoy trips out where he cannot walk around on a leash. It also has pockets for treats, food, water dish, wallet, keys, etc. And I also like the padded handle that holds both handles together while toting. It also comes with an excellent quality padded shoulder option! The bottom of this carrier has a plastic covered hard board to retain its shape and give room for the pet to be safe and comfortable. In addition, it is covered with a soft comfy pad for my pet to rest on. And it is also washable which I like very much. I am very happy with this purchase! The EliteField Soft Sided Pet Carrier is worth every penny spent! Especially, I appreciate Amazon for delivering my Pet Carrier 2-day delivery! Can't beat Prime, thanks Amazon! Nice looking bag.I had gotten it over others because of the pockets for storing items and nice color.However it had a strong chemical smell when I opened the storage bag.Set it out overnight to air.The next morning I walked past it and could smell it when i got near it.This cannot be good for an animal contained in it.A product from the US should not smell like a china replica.I decided to go with a carrier with more mesh and less pockets and carry a seperate bag for supplies.Puppies are sensitive and not worth the risk and unpleaseant smell for us.Several other reveiws stated the smell as well.Also noted a residue that came off on fingers when touching the mesh to see if hard or soft.Gross! ... show more

I work at a animal hospital and see many different carriers. This is a nice light, but sturdy carrier. Much nicer than the old hard molded carriers. Very nice to look at too. I purchased both large and medium sizes, not sure which I wanted to use. End up using the Large for my 10-week goldendoodle. I flew Southwest and tested all three seat positions and the large bag fit under each just fine. Optimal Space under middle and window seats. Puppy could stand up and turn around.
