Interior metal access door can be installed in the ceiling or wall. These metal access door will pass any government inspection requiring a USA made product to be installed.
  • Design 7/16 door return lip edge. Metal access door has machine door catches on the top and bottom to prevent door from pushing in. Recessed to keep flush with drywall or ceiling to maintain beautiful aesthetics for any building.
  • Durability Access door for drywall has rust resistant galvannealed steel to keep your interior access door from rusting and deterioration. Drywall door panel has large accurate cam slots to keep cams sturdy in place and to prevent metal access doors from sagging.
  • Functionality -- Access door for drywall is equipped with strong 14 gauge 304 stainless steel cam latches with large screwdriver slot for easy opening. Two stainless steel pin hinges at the top and bottom to allow opening to 165 degrees for a wider open work area.
  • Finish Paintable surface that is primed with white bake enamel on both inside and outside of the metal access door.

    • Great for new construction - kind of a pain for existing remodel

I bought the 6x6 box to gain access to a gas line shut off that was covered over by remodel job by previous owner. The shut off is right between two studs and the studs are 16" OC so I have nothing to screw the box into. I ended up cutting the hole in the drywall and screwing a couple 2x4 cutoffs to the drywall on the edge of the hole and attached it that way. I wish they had a remodel feature kind of like electrical remodel boxes that don't have to be secured to studs. it did it's job though.
