My 5 year old grandson loves this! I was concerned it might be too small for him ( he's tall for his age and weighs 70 lbs) but no problem. The digger was slightly challenging to assemble. The seat was difficult to slide into its grooves but we solved that with a rubber mallet. I recommend a power drill because we had to drill pilot holes for the screws to secure the seat. There are no step by step instructions but it's really self explanatory once you look at it. Our little guy played with it indoors too since he is so imaginative like most kids his age. He says it would be great at the beach! Outside he dug up a neglected garden area with a little assist from my husband breaking the soil first. I sent my son a video of him playing with it and now he wants to order one to keep at his house. Overall we are very pleased and would definitely recommend this digger!

The kids have had a blast playing with this in the back yard. We don't have a sandbox anymore, but there's enough loose dirt and sand mixture that they can still scoop enough to play around. My 80lb son (10 y/o) is able to sit and play and the excavator holds up well, and my very light 3 y/o has no trouble manipulating things either. Assembly was pretty straight forward. I love having some classic, simple, outdoor toys for the kids to play with out back.

Horrible product. Doesn’t even deserve 1 star. Was sent a used product, no instructions and no screws or bolts to put it together. What parts I did receive was not as described. Stickers only on 1 side and the bucket was glued on.

I got the one with no wheels. As others reviewed, it didn’t come with instructions. It wasn’t terrible to figure out though. And the stickers on the arms are already kinda peeling so I took off one star. My three year old loves it. For anyone looking for some assistance: You’ll need a Phillips and pliers. The package comes with a baggie of hardware including 2 long bolts, 3 washers, 2 nuts, and 4 small screws. The seat slides onto the yellow rectangle end and then you screw in the 4 small screws. The seat is not pre marked, so make sure it’s slid all the way onto the yellow piece. Next you’ll place the seat bar into the base and use a long bolt, washer, and nut to secure them together. Lastly, the arm/digger, make sure you have the digger the right direction then slide the remaining long bolt in add washer, then the straight arm, then the angled arm, then another washer. To get the other side to stay together I used the pliers while I started threading the nut so it wouldn’t pop off. Then switched the pliers to the nut to finish tightening. I included pics of the hardware placements!

The instructions reference a part that isn't included and isn't shown on the "all the parts" list. Thankfully it will cost about 37¢ at my local hardware store to fix. My boy hasn't had the chance to play with it yet, because the hardware store was closed yesterday, but it seems rather solid
