    • 10 Day Review: Some ups, some downs
I got this board to try out electric skateboarding, and exercise my dog. For the purpose of exercising my dog, it does an okay job. I expected that for the price the board wouldn't be great and that it would have some issues. These are the problems I've run into: 1. It only has one motor. This makes it difficult or even impossible to accelerate up a hill, especially from a stop. 2. In general, the acceleration isn't great. If you're riding on the street, this can be annoying. 3. The wheels are large enough to manage maybe 60-75% of the cracks/hazards I come across. However, I find myself dismounting often for many many things. There is a lot of dismounting to get around hazards! 4. If you enjoy riding (which I suspect you will) the range will leave you wanting more. I haven't actually measured the range I'm getting but I suspect it's 6-8 miles. 5. The motor wheel has low or no heat control. It gets !!SUPER!! hot if you ride the board hard and fast. This affects the wheel itself which in my 10 days of riding is already seeing some damage. 6. If you're very tall like me or have wide shoulders, the length of the board might leave you wanting in terms of balance. I've gotten used to it, but I will prefer a longer board for my next purchase. 7. The remote has a cheap, plastic housing. If you fall off your board (and don't have the strap on), chances are you're going to throw the remote which could easily break. Mine has a crack in it but isn't broken. Some ups: 1. The board is really cheap and relatively easy to learn. I had never skateboarded before this, and was able to get the hang of it within 2 days, after taking maybe 3-4 solid spills. Wear a helmet, wrist, elbow, and knee protection!! 2. The braking is pretty solid but somewhat risks throwing you off if you're not careful. 3. The handle is great for carrying it around when it inevitably dies on you or you have to dismount to get around an obstacle. 4. The lower max speed is good for beginners. Overall, if you're brand new to this and just want to get your feet wet, this is a fine board. However, if you find yourself enjoying it and riding a lot, you WILL want a much better board very soon. This thing is really just for getting started. It's like training wheels. ... show more

As a beginner to skateboarding, this has got the be the best way to conquer the learning curve! We happened to get the standard longboard at same time without motor and it's a lot more difficult to ride. I"m still learning how to balance properly with one foot while pushing off with other.. With this board you just hop on, get both feet planted in stable position and let the thumb do the work! The other huge win with the motor is that it provides light braking action so you don't feel out of control, even on downhill slope.. With the other unpowered longboard, I'm constantly hopping off because I pick up speed way too fast and haven't mastered the foot brake and carving yet. Within 20 mins of trying out this board, I was already hitting the "High" speed setting. Have not tested the battery endurance yet, but so far, have been able to get decent riding time 20+ mins on gentle slopes. So far, I'm really liking this purchase, it's tons of fun, decent quality for the price, and it's plenty fast for beginner. It also doubles as a very easy way to get kid to learn how to balance on the skateboard (while I control the speed and walk along with them). Only negative so far is some cosmetic blemishes on the wheel and motor.. , but that's okay, I'm pretty sure I'll be upgrading to dual motor version sometime in future. (3 mo. update). The board continues to work well. I ride it about 1-2times a week, 2-3mi at a time just around the neighborhood. The last time I took it on a longer run was about a 6 mi level bike trail and it managed fine. Battery was down to the last pip on the battery gauge so probably wouldn't have made it past 8mi. The rubber wheels are still holding up but showing signs of some wear which is expected. ... show more

It is a great skateboard. I'm about 215 lbs and it works great. It is not getting me up any hills. However, my kids are able to perfectly fine. Very impressed with this product.

So for the price, I was hoping that my 17 year old daughter would have been pleased with this for quite a while, however it didn't last. The boards ability to stay and maintain power for a decent amount of time became too problematic for her that only after a couple weeks she barely used it and was even asking to resale or give it away. The roads she travels are barely with incline and yet she stated that she still struggled to get the board to travel up them without using more battery resources. Bought for my daughters and they both like them. Charge lasts for a fairly descent time. Speed isn't super fast but does the job. Haven't used them on any hills yet so I can't say what the performance would be. Brake is set up really well, Stops you with out throwing you off

I haven't had this skateboard for that long, only about a couple weeks; I haven't been able to ride it too much yet because of the snow, but so far there have been no problems, the controls are smooth and it's fun to ride. Not too long ago I had a skateboard very similar to this one and the wheels ended up rusting, making it so that I was unable to ride it at all. That being said I would advise staying away from snow or rain when riding it, or just making sure you clean it off after. Basically, I would highly recommend this board, but be careful of it rusting. ... show more
