I LOVE this little drill press! I admit; I was nervous, and did my usual research. I compared several brands, watched videos, etc. I make jewelry from silverplate silverware, and bought a Vevor drill press. It is way too big for my space, so was having buyers regret. Then I happened to see an ad for one of these minis. I'm so glad I did! My Vevor is going in storage, and then put up for sale. It's a monster! This little but mighty press is actually heavy! I'm able to just set it on my work desk without bolting it down or clamping it. It doesn't shake; it's precise. It drills a hole in a fork or spoon just as fast as my Vevor. It probably won't last as long as the Vevor, but I'll probably buy another one in a few months to have when this one gives out. I purchased this for lapidary work after trying a dremel free-hand and with a press and a larger drill press. This drill press works great for that purpose and the price was right. I was quickly able to get perfect holes in 10 cabochons of hardness 7+ stones. There is no wobble at all even when starting the hole in the stone, the ability to adjust the height is easy, the handle is smooth, the variable speed is helpful, and it is very quiet. As others have noted, there are not good instructions. There was not much to assemble except the cover over the belt. But better instructions about how to do the various settings would be appreciated. I don't want to miss any good features. For drilling the stones, I am using good quality hollow cord diamond drill bits and some quality cutting lubricant added in drops. Overall, I am very pleased with this small, functional, and useful drill press. ... show more

    • Surprisingly great little drill press
I often need to drill holes in wood with very small bits for my scroll saw pieces, and I've always had problems with chuck adapters for my "big" drill press. This tiny little drill press fills that need PERFECTLY! As long as I go slow it can even drill through 1" hard maple with precision. This little thing is great. I needed something very small to re bush an old mantel clocks movement plates. My fear was with this being cheaper, the head would have some play and my bushing holes would trave a couple thousandths. To my surprise, it's solid! I re bushed the movement and it's running perfectly after probably a hundred years. I'm very pleased ... show more

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I needed a really small drill press and this fit the bill. Value for money: Works great for the money, surprisingly well made for the money. Drill quality: Almost all the parts are metal and the stops work well. I have used it for over an hour at a stretch with no problems. I have a large WEN drill press in my garage/shop But it's just too clunky for any fine work (chuck not true, bearing play, table not true. It would be fine for wood work, but lousy for any precision drilling. I've looked for a long time for a little drill press Like this for small. precision work in aluminum, mostly. It's highly adjustable once you figure it out (there are no instructions). The little chuck runs very true. I've been able to do some things I could NEVER do with the big drill press. in the future, for bigger stuff, I can drill a precision pilot hole with this little guy, then maybe the Wen can follow it & I'll have a hole where I want it. ... show more

I absolutely love this little drill press. Fantastic little machine for drilling holes in soft metals like silver, copper, brass aluminum. I also purchased a small drill press vice/clamp for the top and have individual blocks of wood made for each drill bit that I use in the press. This block brings my work up closer to the bit and requires less action to drill my holes. The press is whisper quiet and has plenty of power for soft metals and wood. If you use this machine for its intended purpose you will not be disappointed.
