This was such a great investment for my husband who travels to different work site every day. He can easily heat up his lunch at the site or, if the site doesn't have electricity, he can use the car charge port to do the same. There is ample room for a man-sized meal and does not have that plastic smell some other containers have. Its easy to carry, although the carrying case doesn't seem very durable. We've had no issues with it yet, but with use we may need to invest in a higher quality carrying case. Even still, this lunchbox works very well and heats food evenly. This lunch box has been a game changer for me. As I work in forestry and have no access to a microwave to heat up food. NO MORE COLD FOOD! The lunch box work just as intended. Whatever I put in it it works. Takes about 45-1 hour of heat time for a steaming hot meal. Probably get away with 30 mins. The only complaint is when I first got the lunch box the clear seal on the lid as soon as I opened it got stuck to the metal food tray. I had to put it back in the lid but wasn’t hard at all. Durability wise, it’s to early to tell but it solidly built plastic outside. Drop it I’m sure it’ll break but if you keep it in the insulated bag I’m sure you’ll be okay. They say it’s leak proof, I have lent tried this claim yet but they advertise you can take liquids like soups. I’m bet skeptical as the top vent that’s is used when hearing food doesn’t seem tight enough to stop liquid from seeping thru as all you do is push the center and it inverts it self. The cable is just long enough about 4 feet long. As of now cable is working fine but does seem a bit cheaply made (the part that goes into the 12v car outlet). They do come with a small fork and a small spoon both stainless steel but are very small. Works but small the top of the lunch box has a compartment that can only fit that small size fork and spoon. Wish it could fit a full size fork and spoon. Those are my only complaints if you want to call it that. But other than that the lunch box is super solid. I wish I’d tried it sooner. I missed my return window. It burns the bottom of everything I put in to to warm. I still use it but I think spending more and buying the crock pot brand. I think it’ll be much better and not burning the food. I use the mini crockpot lunch warmer 95 days out of 100. It never burns my food. This burns it every time. I’ve tried it three times in the last two weeks. Different food densities and types. I heat it for 1-2 hours like the mini crockpot. All in all it’s still better than the microwave. I’ve bought stainless lunch containers to put my food in and then put inside the warmer container. The metal container it comes with is do thin I think doubling up might help the burning. ... show more

    • Great way to have a hot meal while on the road

I have had this for over a year now. I only use it about once a month on long trips. But it has already paid for itself. As long as you know what to expect from this product it can be great. First thing is it will not cook food, just reheat it. Second I would not use it for mostly liquid items. I cook food a day ahead. On the morning of a trip I place the food in the tray and plug it in the car. Usually after an hour to one and a half hours I will smell the food. Then I will find a place to take a quick break and be back on the road. On very long drives I bring a second meal in a cooler and load it up an hour before my next meal time. The removable metal insert is reasonable to clean on the go and easier to clean at home. The outside gets warm but not too hot, but to be safe I keep it on the the floor in front of the passenger seat. Meats, vegetables, eggs, and pasta/rice do the best for me. There is a vent on the top to let the steam out but food can get soggy so breads and fries are not great. If I plan to make a hot sandwich I place the bread/buns in a separate container.
