  • This is a good playing guitar
Color: Red
Been playing since 77, have owned a bunch and still do. Mostly tele styles. This is well worth the money. Here are my random thoughts, good and bad. Plays easy, no hum, so pickups are quiet. I’ll likely rewire as I don’t intend to coil split and don’t see any need to keep their weird little coil split switch. Personally, I’d much rather have a push-pull pot for coil splitting but I’m sure that would’ve added to unit cost. The pickups are quiet and aren’t microphonic, but they also just kinda lay there. It could benefit from pickup upgrade because it is such a fine playing guitar. The neck is wonderful as is the fretwork. Very similar to others I’ve bought on here, same rounded fret ends, same roasted maple neck, same machine head tuning machines. The color red is super dark and the top appears to be a laminated photo of wood grain rather than actual burl top (which of course would be expensive). As with all my others, that I believe are all made In same factory, the roasted necks are dark. With these inlay dots, they’re invisible. Can’t imagine a club gig with this. Being as I can build some, I’ll be drilling out or using a fine pick, to remove the clear plastic inlay dots. I believe the “inlays” are clear plastic dots covering abalone print decal under fingerboard. In other words, you aren’t seeing abalone inlay, for fret positions, you’re seeing a clear plastic dot with a photo decal of abalone under it. I will replace the impossible to see inlay dots with black Dot inlays. It’s a good looking and playing guitar that’s a good price. I’m not hung up on doing anything to it bad except making the inlay dots visible. I can live with the somewhat unclear and undefined pickups. Plays like a dream. ... show more

  • Lives Up to Expectations
Color: Red
The fit and finish are good. (It looks sharp.) There are no blemishes. The neck is easy to play. The electronics do their thing: Coil splitting is working for both pickups, volume and tone work well. The tuners are smooth and hold well. It sounds decent and you can get a breadth of tone variations with coil splitting. Overall, it is worth the price in my estimation. ... show more

  • Nice Guitar, Electronics are weak point
Overall the guitar has a good fit and finish for the price. Neck is very flat and has a medium thickness. I didn't notice any fret or buzzing issues. Tuners work well, appears to have a bone nut. Pickups are on the weak side. Electronics may need upgraded.

  • I am impressed
Color: Red
First and foremost, the seller is great. Hours after I made my purchase, the guitar went on sale. Given the situation, they were very quick to honor the sale price. As for the guitar itself, I am incredibly impressed. Perfect intonation and amazing action out of the box. Typical "starter" strings that most guitars seem to come with. Not the worst but not to my preference. Easy enough to fix. The tuning stability isn't the best. After about two hours of putting it through it's paces it was slightly out. I was admittedly playing hard with a lot of bends so it can be expected. Locking tuners should mitigate that issue. There is way more to like than complain about. I have a local guitar center in walking distance of me and I can say from experience that this plays as well as some three times the cost. It is surely not a "shredder" neck but given the fact that I have been playing for over thirty years it has that familiar gibson or fender feel but without that weird finish fender puts on some of the fret boards. This guitar plays well above it's price point for a budget price. Minor upgrades and it could be a beast. It also looks good. I plan on wall hanging it rather than putting it in a case. The only major con is that it was shipped via ups and if I'm being blunt, they suck. Should have been two day delivery and due to whatever they did, it took a week. Amazed it didn't arrive damaged from their shenanigans. Don't let the delivery experience influence you. This instrument was worth the wait. ... show more

FIRST ORDER: 1st guitar: (VS) damaged body, busted, cracked along the top binding. (see photo) 2nd guitar: (RED) neck joint was sanded after it was finished, apparently to fit the body joint, but was not refinished, exposing a large part of the wood joint to moister, dirt, et cetera. (see photo) both guitars were returned and refunded. although the guitars in the first order were damaged, I thought they were nice guitars so I tried again, even ordered a couple more. these are printed finishes, but they looked really nice. SECOND ORDER: 1st guitar: (RED) once again, another damaged guitar, this time the top tuning key was busted, (see photo) - RETURNED. 2nd guitar: (VS) this one was good, no damages, print looked good. 3rd guitar: (PURPLE) while there were no damages, the print is way off from the advertised photo image. (see photo, side by side comparison)- RETURNED. 4th guitar: (BLACK B) no damages, the print was not as vibrant as the advertised photo, but not as bad as the purple. THIRD ORDER: (RED) this was my third attempt at this guitar, and finally, all good, no damages, and the print was good. These guitars are poorly shipped, in manufacturer box, no padding, no bubble wrap, nothing, just a thin cardboard box (see photos) these are nice guitars but they really need to pack and ship them better, and better quality control. some of the truss rod wrenches came all rusted (see photo) and please make sure all the prints are done properly. This is the same company that makes Grote guitars, there are a couple of those I'd like to get as well, but I'm definitely hesitant to order, the reviews seem to be similar. These guitars are a real hit or miss, and it's a shame, because they are nice guitars when they get it right. Disappointing.... ... show more

Color: Black A
Not even usable ,the bridge even maxed out on height was to short making the action to low,the pickups look nice but had no low end whatsoever the low e string barley made any noise, but I liked the guitar the neck the shape and feel of it ,so I bought a different bridge w more adjustment and put some active emg Zach wilde pickups in it .now it rips I love it,but now the 150$ guitar became a 5-600$ guitar you get what u pay for for sure. ... show more

  • Incredible value Incredible guitar Incredible value Incredible guitar
This was a shocker to me !!! Fit and finish is flawless. Plays great, intonated well, neck is chunky and feels excellent. Roasted maple neck with satin finish feels and plays really great !! Frets are meticulously done. Bridge is setup to be string through or top loader. Pickups sound excellent clean and are expressive and articulate with low to medium gain. Coil tap switch really lets you get some neat clean tones. There is absolutely nothing negative about this guitar. I’m still shocked by the price and how great a value it is. I posted close up pictures so you could see the fit and finish, the fret ends and how nice the finish is in the light. Volgoa might be a name you have not heard before, but do not let that keep you away from a great guitar !!! ... show more

Looks nice and like the pic has a very nice neck. I got this for $150 to the door! Body and neck alone worth it. Weighs around 7lb.
