My fuel gauge had been erratic for several years, but the fuel pump was working fine. I was hoping that would continue until the end of life of my '03 Montana with 265k miles. But the pump finally died and I was able to confirm the pump was bad by pressing on the schrader valve on the fuel line near the where the power steering pump was. Also confirmed that there was voltage to the pump. Unfortunately my 25 gallon tank was nearly completely full. I used 3 jacks to lower it. Replacing the pump was pretty simple. New connector was easily spliced in. All colors matched. I didn't using the crimps that were provided. Pump fit perfectly. Once I hooked it up, I turned the key on and off many times to "prime" the pump as a way of emptying out the tank into a gas can many times to lessen the weight. I gave the pump 5 stars. This is Sept 2022. If the pump fails, I will change the rating. Gas gauge now works great. ... show more

The orginal pump didn't fail after 110K miles, only the plastic material of the lid did. This one was a perfect replacement. As It turned out , it better to replace right and left pumps together instead of doing them one at a time. After doing this one, I found that right pump material also failed when I filled the tank. I changed the rating to 4 stars from 5 star. When I reopened the pump to install left pump, I found that the gasket expanded and became too big to seal properly. I had to reuse the old gasket to seal it. Obviusly the new gasket material wasn't right and was affected by gasoline or ethanol. ... show more

    • Gauge is not trustworthy watch mileage and not the fuel gauge!!!

Pump is still working. The Fuel level gauge is very inaccurate!!! Shows just under a 1/4 tank left and the truck dies due to no fuel left. The low fuel light has also stopped working. And I have a code for the fuel temp sensor which is part of the tank.

So, incase your looking at this pump, heres some helpful tips from someone whos bought a MOSTPLUS JDM ELITE AND A FEW OTHER "look alikes". THEY ARE ALL THE SAME AWESOME PUMP. you may read about this pump WHINING or MAKING A HIGH PITCHED NOISE. The only reason it is doing that is due to 1. Hole in the fuel suction line. 2. THEY DIDNT PRIME THEIR PUMP before turning the car on *YOU MUST PRIME THE FUEL PUMP (pour some fuel INTO the pump) before you try to turn it on. 3. They honestly have no idea what they are doing and should leave this stuff to the professionals. very very versatile fuel pump, if you know what your going to do with it, it will WORK GREAT on any car WITH FUEL as its MAIN SOURCE OF COMBUSTION. AKA, the PUMP CAN GO INLINE WITH ANY FUEL HOSE (3/8in fittings) in ANY CAR. just look up how to do it. Ive personally bought almost 10 of these now. P.S. THIS IS THE CHEAPEST (as in price, not quality) PUMP THAT THIS BRAND MAKES ON AMAZON, i HAVE NO COMPLAINTS. FOR FUTURE REFERENCE, MAKE SURE YOU BUY THIS PUMP IF YOUR LOOKING AT ANYTHING MOSTPLUS, OR that JDM crap page.
