  • Amazon's biggest LEMON, they've ever sold me.
HONESTLY: BEGGEST LEMON I HAVE EVER PURCHASED: It's like you're buying an assembled RPI 5 8 gb with a touchscreen, but that's not enough for 300$. Some of the modules in kit, come out-dated, like the LED Display and 7 Segment LED, for example. Who wants to downgrade their system because two components are essentially permanently "toast." That said, I built a rapsberry pi 5 8gb, with a geeekpi LCD case, and an official " boss" power adapter. Does just about the same thing. PRICE: 80$ RPI 5 8gb... ok I understand this part. 20$ Power adapter. Finally, 35$ for the case. So, after contacting amazon and telling about this situation, and while doing my due diligence to troubleshoot the system with Elekrow, Amazon basically tells me I have to return the unit, THE LEMON. This is not good customer service. This product seemed like a Golden Egg in a see of snake water and mock Holy Grails. It, should it work, be an excellent introduction to ic, and circuits and electrical components. It's electrical components: itz gonna give you a lot of headaches. BE WARNED! • I think I like it
I don't really need all the pre-mounted parts, I just wanted a convenient RasPi setup for programming and testing. I would have preferred an "all breadboard" version with the signals broken out. And I do wish it was slightly bigger. But this will do just fine. If you are careful you can unplug the ribbon cable and I simply made a longer cable to use with a breakout board. Overall it makes a very nice grab and go setup that is easy to close up and set aside when you need to switch to doing something else. I have intentions of adding NVME storage and AI processors, but since they haven't arrived yet I can't speak to whether there are any issues, although I don't expect any (but then, NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition!) The screen quality is decent for what this is. The included mouse and keyboard are truly bad. (the dongle is hidden in the mouse if you are looking for it) Since the touchscreen mostly makes the mouse unnecessary I suggest simply ordering the Cherry Stream TKL keyboard. The wired version is $23, the keys are decent and the smaller size is a good match. I think they have a wireless if you want it, and a number of other versions, but the price goes up. • Excellent support service
I think that the CrowPi is one of the coolest ways to experiment with the raspberry pi. This is my second CrowPi. My first CrowPi I only used a small amount and ended up selling it to a friend. The second one (9 inch screen and raspberry pi 5) has been used almost every day until the power on the board went bad. I upgraded the sd card to 256 GB. I had a bit of trouble, but the extremely polite and knowledgeable service people at Elecrow helped me successfully solve my problems. When the power went bad on my new CrowPi, I once again turned to Elecrow for help. When it was determined that I had a bad board, Elecrow immediately offered to replace it. You can see I am pleased and impressed with the service from Elecrow. This CrowPi 5 is my third Elecrow product. I also bought the CrowView, a very useful product. I highly recommend Elecrow for their highly creative products and their excellent support service. ... show more

  • Good, not great
I really want to love this setup. The physical design is so cool - the case is very stealth, the size is right but, there are so many flaws. First, the unit I was shipped was locked in a Pi 5 boot screen - should not have been a problem since the entire internet knows all of the Pi 5 lockout ids. Annoyingly, none of those worked.I contacted support and their advice was less helpful than stack overflow. I completely understand that they are a small company but, if I would have had competent support, I could have saved at least a few dozen hours of my own time. ... show more

  • Great Customer Service
I ordered a Crowpi deluxe all in one kit. It had an error code that prevented it from updating or installing new files or programs. Lets face it. No matter what the product is, or how good it is, sometimes one gets passed quality control. When that happens, it is comforting to know that the company stands behind the product and the customer is treated fairly. Tech support, at Elecrow, couldn't fix the problem and I was referred to Janet in the after purchase dept. Janet didn't hesitate to let me know that they stood behind the product and immediately made a couple offers to correct the situation. My Crowpi Kit was replaced and the new one is working fine and doing everything it was purposed to do. Thank you Janet and Elecrow. ... show more

  • Nice unit, but still needs more improvements, way overpriced.
Nice unit and nifty for learning electronics and programming. Pros: small and compact nice case Cons: PSU that comes with it is not strong enough. I had to purchase a CanaKit PSU that improved the supply it needed. Lacks a power switch. and, like the previous reviews said, lack of proper instructions for the unit. way lacking. I had to search online for some of the information to it and was not in the crowpi site. no way to change the brightness of the display, it's super bright and uncomfortable. ... show more
