I did this excellent craft project with our five and seven year old girls. We all had so much fun! I gave them some ideas but they were able to work independently for nearly an hour. I completed one but they each did three very different shells. It comes with paint, glitter glue, jewels and eyes. This was such a neat project and would make an amazing gift.

We recently took our annual trip to the beach and I thought this would be so much fun for the kids to be able to paint and decorate the shells they found on the beach. It comes with 4 large shells and 4 smaller shells, paint, glitter pens, jewels, and little eyes to decorate with. My kids LOVED it and were trying to find tons of stuff to keep painting! Quality wise, the paint isn’t the best, but its perfect for kids and especially for the price point its fine. You just have to paint in layers to get it thicker and not see through.

This is such an entertaining kit! I was very impressed with the quality and size of the seashells. They were very bright and large. It comes with every color of paint you could need, a palette, glitter, paint brushes and stick on gems and pearls. It's not difficult to use at all and kept myself and my daughter entertained for hours. We had every shell painted within a few days and will be purchasing more. We also had plenty of supplies left over for different projects!

Though I can say there are a few things that don't quite fit the ad, it says there's various sizes of shells and there's only 2 sizes of shells so you can't really say various. Also, I am pretty sure these are not real shells, I believe this is made from plaster of Paris. They are absolutely perfect and uniform and absorbent which shells are definitely not. Because it not real shells, you are more easily able to paint these and have the paint stick! It also dries pretty quickly. The set is quite comprehensive. You get google eyes, puffy paint/glue, lots of colors of paint, However, only a couple of brushes. One that is wide and one that is a fine point so I don't think you will be able to use this in a party or group setting unless you buy a lot more paint and a lot more brushes or one set for each individual. All in all this is great for one person! Not for a group as it says in the ad. Still, a very nice little set.

I thought this craft kit would be a nice change to the typical "build you own bracelet" kit for my kids! It comes packaged in a colorful cardboard box, inside is the plastic tray containing the 8 shells, 10 color glitter glue, sticky eyes, diamond stickers sheet, 2 small paintbrushes, a plastic paint mixing plate, and 8 mini paint buckets. I wanted to make sure no seashells were broken and they were all intact, however the packaging doesn't seem particularly secure and the seashells are on the thin side, so I could see it happen that some may get broken during transport given no particular packaging precaution. The shells are mostly white, I would describe the quality of the items included in the pack as "acceptable" given the reasonable budget of this craft kit, but don't expect anything highly refined. It makes for a great gift for boys and girls alike (which kid doesn't like to paint??), I'd say probably OK for ages 3-10yo, or even a bit older if they're still into DIY crafts. And the best part is that you will have 8 new little shells to expose in your home once your kids are done painting them and want to redecorate your home :D I recommend!

Eleanore's Diary Kids Seashell Painting Kit is a great project for your younger kids (3+). As my title states, this kit has everything you need for young artists - seashells, paint, glitter, googly eyes, 2 brushes and stickers! The instructions are on the back of the main product box, but who needs instructions when you have imagination! The only slight disappointment is there's just 2 brushes, and just one painting base I guess you call it. (Place to put the seashell on while it's under construction). So if you have more than 1 kid, you may have to make do w/ custom solutions, like a plastic coffee lid, as a paint base, and perhaps dig out more brushes from your school supplies.
