Description

The ELCAN SpecterDR 1x-4x Dual Role Optical Sight is a revolution in battlefield optics. This is the world’s first dual field of view combat optical sight. The ELCAN Specter DR 1x-4x switches from 4x magnification to 1x CQB with the throw of a lever, while still providing identical eye-relief in both positions. The Specter DR Dual Role gives the user both fast target acquisition and long-range identification that no other combat optic provides. The ELCAN SpecterDR 1x-4x offers variable sight illumination, meaning the operator can switch between fully illuminated crosshairs or just illuminated red dot. In the event of power loss, the reticles remain fully visible. The Elcan Dual Role Optical Sight has changed the standard in battlefield optics, all other sights only perform half the job. • Fast shipping. Exactly as pictured. Great price.
I've been wanting one of these for awhile now. Great optic and at a great price. Locks tight on my upper with no movement with super clear glass.

  • You get what you pay for. This gem oozes quality.
What a great product, I love it! - Built like an A1 Abrams. Solid piece of gear. - Glass is crystal clear. Clarity is right up there with my ACOG and US Optics scopes. - Field of view is huge. Just huge. - Red dot is highly visible in bright daylight. - Controls are easy to reach and manipulate, even with gloved hands. - Did I mention the glass is crystal clear? Gorgeous. The only thing I like more about my ACOG is the reticle illumination in daylight. The Elcan reticle can be a little bit harder to find/use with a super busy background, but this is not even close to being a deal-breaker. (The Elcan does have an illuminated reticle, but this is for low light situations - it will not show in bright daylight). I was pleasantly surprised to have also gotten 2x end caps (flip type) with the far side cap having an anti-reflection device built in. Nice touch! Last note, and not a biggie, the battery cover on mine did not match the picture. The picture had a little knurled cover on the reticle illumination knob - attached to the main body by a lanyard. Mine was simply a slotted screw in disk without a lanyard (need something like a quarter to open/close it). Overall, I'm very happy. This is a pricey optic, but well worth it in my opinion. ... show more

  • Awesome optic
Optic is amazing. I have the 1.5-6 power for 7.62x51 and this optic didn’t disappoint. I actually like the reticle of 5.56 better for 7,8,900 yard ranging better than the reticle on the 7.62. The clarity of this glass and the ability to switch immediately from 1 to 4 power is awesome. Red dot is “aimpoint” bright and I love the upgrade to the CR2032 battery from the 1/3 N cell. Also the whole reticle illumination is very cool. The FDE looks much better in person than in the photos. Also, mine came with a kill flash and tenebrex flip covers already installed so I will have to send back these items I ordered with it. The arms mounts don’t bother me the way they do some people, never had a problem with the 1.5-6 power big brother and I don’t foresee it being an issue on this optic either. My only gripe was that Optics Planet, who the order was fulfilled through, shipped my 2k optic without any packaging other than the card board box it was put in. I know the Elcan is built like a tank, but come on Optics Planet you should be better than that I can’t imagine the the abuse this box took while en route, no wait I can as I used to be a package handler. If you can afford the optic go for it, it’s hard to beat. ... show more

  • If you can afford it buy it!
Just wanted other prospective buyers to know that this scope is just as nice as these pictures depict it. The glass is very clear bright and the field of view beats all of my other scopes especially at 1x. The 1x to me appears to be a real 1x so both eyes open use is effortless. There are no adjustments to be made as it is a fixed focus with a 1-4x throw lever which works very well. The reticle looks really good to my eyes as well as the clarity and light transmission which is approaching theoretical limits here I bet. I looked through this for about a week every day at all kinds of things (weaponless) and I had all of my Zeiss, trijicon, valdada, burris and other scopes to compare back and forth. This scope even with it's small magnification level has resolution that all of the others can't live up to; so clear and bright. It trashed the other scopes and they are great scopes . I wish I could afford these on all of my long rifles. It is well worth the price and this color FDE really makes this thing look good even on a black rifle. ... show more

  • Awesome
As a highly trained elite mall security professional I need the best equipment to keep the patrons safe. I needed something tough because it will bet banged around in my golf cart all day. I needed something with good glass that dident blurry under the green sirens of my tactical assault cart. Something I could use in cqb if the food court gets taken over by terrorist or something I could shoot zombies from the roof. Or the occasional racoons in the garbage Mashers. Great product. I plan on joining seal team six soon and will definitely use it there on super elite ninja raids. Just gotta lose another 120 lbs. ... show more

Is NOT as pictured. Please update the picture to current gen. With that being said, elcan is a very solid optic. People talk about weight but it's irrelevant to me on my MK18. Excellent glass quality. Switched from ACOG to this

  • Excellent balance. Built like a tank
This optic was worth the time and money. The weight is not an issue if you regularly run an eotech and magnifier.. same weight. Excellent balance. Built like a tank. All business. Definite head turner at the range.. of you care about that. No B.S. Pros: -Holds zero after dismounting.. multiple times. -No play in the mount. -Superb military grade glass. Super clear. -great battery life. Leave it on for months. -good eye relief for a dual. Cons: -newest model did not come with battery type and lanyard pictured. Talking to The distributor, I found out that this was due to recent upgrade.. the new battery type is supposed to last longer. So this "con" is purely from an aesthetic standpoint. -The optic is not a true "1X" ; meaning, you will not be able to co-witness with irons. However, shooting with 2 eyes opened, you will experience no loss of target/ objective acquisition. -User manual not the same type as asctual optic. Not a huge issue. Call Admament.. they will send you correct one. -iron sights on optic are... meh. They have been known to break. Be warned. They are as acurate as can be expected when the front and the rear sight are 4 inches away. Bottom line.. it's the last optic you'll ever need. ... show more
