It took a.while to get this project done. I uses these as closet doors in the house. They are very well built. I would get the pre primed ones if you are going to paint them. The wood oils bleed though. It took 6 coats of stain blocker primer to stop the bleeding. If you are going to stain them you would be fine. Really like these shutters. Built like old craftsman would have built them. Thick stiles and slats. Very smoothly sanded. Stiles constructed of glued finger joints, but very nicely done. Made to be opaque painted. Staining may produce a mottled appearance. Have not painted these shutters yet, but expect a very good result. End use as bi-fold closet doors. Very satisfied, so far. The panels are nicely put together and the wood is a nice color tone. However, they are pieced together and do not appear as they do in their listing. Totally different then what is pictured in the listing example.

Sturdy, well-made shutters. My home was built in 1935 and surprisingly still has its original shutters in remarkably good condition. However, two of the sets were starting to show some signs of rot at the bottom, so I decided to replace them. I wanted a solidly built shutter to match the originals as closely as possible. These new shutters did not disappoint. They weren’t a perfect match — my originals have two more louvers in their design. Not very noticeable, but I swapped out sets in order to move these to a less visible side of the house. Very happy with this purchase. Hope these will last as long as the originals! ... show more

I have been looking for exterior shutters for a while. Either you get fake foam prop looking ones for lesser, but still expensive or really expensive custom ones that take forever. Well this is your solution. Hard wood, well made and shipped in a couple of days. These are seriously good shutters that can be inside or out. one of the slats was misaligned from the factory looked bad ..had to install because of medical situation at the customers home they were used to block a pass through opening inside the home where the wife who is suffering from dementia needed the privacy

I don't usually write reviews for online orders, however this review is well worth my time. As you can see in the photos both shutters are severely cracked and a waste of hard earned money. As I was having my home painted my contractor informed me that I had two shutters that needed to be replaced before the painters finished up. My home was built with solid wooden shutters therefore I wanted to replace them with wooden ones, after tireless effort by my contractor and myself we were unable to find wooden shutters anywhere but online. The cost was quite astonishing but I had to have them so I went ahead and ordered them. UPS pulls up and hands me the box the shutters were in and in less than five minutes I realized that both shutters were majorly cracked. My contractor told me he could try gluing them or shooting braids in the sides of each shutter but he couldn't guarantee that the glue would hold and warned me the braids may cause them to split even more. By now I'm extremely upset and have no time to return these and possibly take a chance of the replacements being damaged as well. I elected to go with gluing them and clamping them for a couple days, they since have been painted and installed. Time will tell if they hold up and for how long.
