Saw this gadget in a reel and had to find it. Works surprisingly well! The egg stands fit all sizes of eggs, are not too deep, just right. Use it Monday through Saturday at work along with my buddy and co-worker. We do a daily "egg-thirty" (11:30 AM) using either duck eggs or chicken eggs. Actually I make 2 Soft Boiled eggs every morning and this little set-up has made it so much more enjoyable. Cleanup of the Cracker Tool is a little "touchy" doing it by hand - sharp edge!

I bought this to replace my old egg cutting device that had a bunch of points that cut a circular pattern around the egg but frequently broke more of the shell than I wanted. The cutting device works fine. It needs to be pulled back the full way before releasing and I find that stabilizing the egg with my had helps. The top of the egg rarely comes off spontaneously. I almost always have to use the tip of a knife to complete the job but the end result is clean. the spoons that come with it are a nice size and the finish makes them easy to clean. The egg cups are flimsy and hard to clean. Ill probably invest in some ceramic egg cups if I come across some I like. HInt: I started buying brown eggs because it is much easier to spot the occasional tiny big of shell that is close to the edge of the cut and might end up being scouped up when starting to eat the egg.

This Egg Topper really works like a charm. It almost seems like magic, but I'm sure it is just good enginering. Larger eggs seat well in the egg cups. If your eggs are too small to seat in the egg cups, just tear off a 2 inch wide strip of paper towel and seat the small egg in the cup with the paper towel strip cushioning it. There is a technique to learn and get better at, but the first egg I used it on, the top section came right off cleanly. I wouldn't want to prepare soft boiled eggs without it.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t wear this for the egg cracker, I just wanted the egg cups and spoons… And those are great… The egg cracker on the other hand just doesn’t work the way it is supposed to. It’s a very elegant set, but a regular teaspoon does a better job at not making a mess while cracking the egg. Maybe my eggs are too small or too big, but the “crack and swivel” doesn’t suck the shell into the cup, and leaves a bunch of shell remnants that you have to pick out...

I love soft boiled eggs, but slicing with a knife over the years has gotten tedious, these remove that stigma, however the learning curve is that if you don't hold the egg and egg cracker together, the bottom of your egg will get crushed as the force telegraphs down more than into the cutting ridge, you will burn your fingers a bit until you get good at it, then your a veteran egg cracker and these are very good!! I would suggest to the manufacturer that they make the cutting ridge inside the cutter a little more pronounced, and angled up juuusst a hair. over all?? a very good product, minus the learning curve.
