This Christmas lamp was a fun painting project that I did with my 10-year-old grandson. Before we started, we researched elks and learned that an elk, a moose, a reindeer, and many other similar animals are all deer. So, my grandson decided that we’d be painting a reindeer, rather than an elk, for Christmas. My grandson planned out how we would paint it. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the provided acrylic paint stuck to the plastic. The paint quality is considerably better than what I have received in similar kits I've used in the past. While the brushes aren’t the best quality, they were perfect for this project, and I like that also included was a tiny detail brush. We used tweezers to help us put on the tiny gemstones. I recommend using two coats of paint on large areas to minimize the streaky appearance when the light glows through it. You can still see the streakiness, but it’s better with two coats than it was with one. Regardless, it was a great project and we are very happy with the results. ... show more
