The units are easy to put together. The shelf supports fit around the corner poles and are secured by the grooves in the poles and the shelf itself. You may want to use a small piece of wood and a hammer to tap each shelf snugly in place. Shelves are adjustable in one inch intervals. Make sure the bottom shelf is placed close to the floor, and the top shelf close to the top of the poles, as it adds stability to the unit. Installation was easy, once I figured out that the washers between the shelves were just part of the packaging used to protect the parts. I tried to use them since they were on every shelf. I wish they would have been mentioned in the inductions but they weren’t. The poles would not go through them so I finally realized they weren’t needed. After that, assembling was easy. These are just what I needed. My kitchen countertops were covered with small appliances. I moved a lot on them to these shelves in my laundry room. It’s so nice to have clean countertops again. The quality is good and I expect them to last a long time. They came with heavy duty plastic liners for each shelf which I love. It makes them much easier to use. I don’t have to worry about things going through the metal or struggle with trying to balance things on it. I’m very pleased with these shelves. ... show more

This was the ONLY steel shelving unit which listed the dimensions of the support poles as 1" diameter, which gave me the confidence in ordering it.
