  • Very practical for transplanting small seedlings
Loved using it, it keeps your hands not dirty. It appears to be well made and durable. But I noticed that after a little use, rust began to appear from the inside. Although I wash and dry it after each use.

  • Works as described, but not durable
I had several dozen flower bulbs to plant, so purchased this. I liked the way it worked, but metal on one side bent on firm soil on about the 10th bulb. Disappointed.

  • Tips For Use
There are many comments on bulb planters bending. Mine worked fine while I was centered over it and pushed straight down at the strongest place on the handle. But when I got rushed and sloppy, I put more force on the weaker side of the handle, at the narrower part of the plastic handle. Yep, that side bent a little and the handle doesn't squeeze anymore. But I fault my pushing pretty hard on the weak side. Dumb! I still use it and just turn the thing over to dump out the dirt. Not perfect, but functional and better than a spade. ... show more

  • why didnโ€™t I buy sooner?
I was worried about purchasing this because a couple of the reviews said it broke. Used it on soft areas and hard areas and it was not hard to get the dirt out at all. Iโ€™m not sure why people complained. It was everything I wanted. I planted about 75 bulbs and an eighth in the time I would do by hand and save my back and it was such an easy tool to use. Iโ€™m looking forward to doubling the amount of bulbs next year . I even saw this tool used on a news show where over 1000 bulbs were planted. This is definitely a lifesaver. since itโ€™s my first time, canโ€™t tell you how long will last but I loved it. ... show more

  • Not as easy to use
It's a handy bulb planter but, I wouldn't recommend using in tough clay soil like we have here in parts of GA. Requires a lot of pushing and twisting while bending, so can be a bit back breaking. Not easy to get rid of soil that gunks up once you twist and pull. I don't recommend in rocky clay garden beds. Should maybe have purchased waist level bulb planter using foot rest to push down and twist. ... show more
