We had a massage ball (hard) that the baby loved. So we found these, identical but soft enough for the one year old. 4 bright colors, gives the opportunity to teach colors, encourage motor developmental, and especially encourage cruising, walking, running, crawling. They are also easy to grab (they came somewhat deflated, which is not a bad thing (a simple air pump can inflate if needed). These ALSO help with the child learning to use their balance, as they will often walk around with it in their hands (out to their sides to stable themselves). Great product, might buy a second set.
